“You know what else I hate? That freaking Queen song Bohemian Rhapsody. I hated it when it came out and they still play it nonstop.”
I liked a lot of what Queen did - but you’re right. That one was bad.
Id rather sit in Gitmo than listen to little girls screech into a tin can.
He was great in "Gremlins", the "Bathroom Buddy", LOL!
The only one I really liked was Fat Bottomed Girls
That one has a very special place in my soul.

Yesterday, I listened to Face The Music (1975) by ELO.
I must be stuck in a time warp.

People that hate the Beatles should be sent to Gitmo.
Here’s a song just for them....
Allan Sherman - Pop Hates the Beatles

The only tolerable one was 8. Losing My Religion
Like 90’s music as a whole, the rest of the list was unmemorable.
He did an episode of WKRP in Cincinnati that was a riot.
“Her list is fairly trite and overplayed, representing the last gasp of top 40 radio.”

The 60s/70s Top 40 was great - you’d be exposed to a variety of music genres, it wasn’t as targeted to one type or another, as is the case now. In December of 1963 both “Louie, Louie” (Kingsmen) and “Dominique” (The Singing Nun) were at the top of the Top 40. Lots of crossover music in those decades, also.
The way Morrison sings, the Doors should’ve been a lounge act in Vegas. Morrison was quite the crooner.

Don't Give Us a Reason--Hank Williams, Jr. (1990)
Good. Now go listen to "Eldorado", the best ELO album of them all.
“70s allowed for classic rock to mature, 80s were wonderful with a wide veriety of genres reaching maturity and exploring sounds with new technologies..”
Agreed.
I think one of the worst songs ever produced is "Eleanor Rigby." Just dreadful. I can't imagine why anyone would voluntarily listen to it.
“Dominique (The Singing Nun) were at the top of the Top 40”
Probably the worst hit song ever.
.
No and......no
Ahhaha. I think Alan Sherman (who?) lost that war. Cool video, gator. :)
“Hoyt Axton was great.”

Yup. Penned a good number of tunes that others covered, e.g. “The Pusher”.
I think this is my fave Hoyt song, “Billie’s Theme”.
