Finish? Helsinki to where? I thought we were talking Calibfornia. :=) Oh, be completed. Not in my life time.
A line of giant, nuclear powered buses would make more sense.
Any Hollywood already made a movie about it.
Hmmm! On second thought, 2033 is doable. Well for me. Not the ‘Progressively Accelerating Conveyance’.(Avoiding using ‘bullet’. Offensive!) 2033 ain’t happenin’ for that.
Its only $77 billion. But a decade ago, CA taxpayers were told it would only cost $33.6 billion.
And it hasn’t even built and the price tag has soared out of sight.
The train to nowhere, indeed.
Jerry Brown is a criminal.
sure hope all cost overrun is paid with only CA $$ and we’re not wasting our fed taxes on this?
Boondoggle? Not to worry, its OPM.
Are they allowed to call it a “BULLET”-train ? LOL
If you calculated the cost per ride over 10 years after the project is complete. I bet you could buy each person a Gulfstream aircraft with crew.
RE: sure hope all cost overrun is paid with only CA $$ and were not wasting our fed taxes on this?
With the way CA is fighting against Trump’s immigration plan, they won’t get a cent from him as long as he is President and if he can help it.
The Wildcard is of course — CONGRESS. If they vote to fund this boondoggle using Federal money, Trump will have no choice but to veto it.
You’ll notice that there has been NO talk of the ill-conceived - but aptly named - Bullet Train between Detroit and Chicago. Criminals traveling between Detroit and Chicago with highly subsidized tickets would be a disastrous....faster delivery of opioids, and easier exchange of illegal weapons, hence ‘Bullet Train’. Where is Senator ‘Little Dick’ Durbin?
::::Crickets::::
How much did the companies that built it give to Dems? Overruns of 40B, 10B back to the Dem 1-party rule, no problemo.
The transcontinental railroad, 1,912 miles from Omaha to Oakland, was built using hand labor and gunpowder, and took six years to complete.
That isn't, "high speed rail", it's just well maintained rail as it's existed for over a hundred years.
California. Leading America to the 19th Century.
Bullet, sounds scary.
Doomed to fail.
Oh, be completed. Not in my life time.
Since my wife and I are pushing 80, we will probably never see it running.
Our adult children and spouses are in their 50’s, they might see the trains running.
Our grand kids will not because they will not be able to afford to live in California and pay for the train and millions and millions of illegals.
“Youll Never Guess What CAs Bullet Train Will Cost Or When It Will Finish”
Oddly enough that’s the new official name of the project. They decided to stop pretending.
