If you've seen previews the the upcoming movie Rampage (based on a popular video game), the gorilla in the movie is white, whereas in the arcade it's brown.... (no doubt done on purpose, since the plot of the game and movie is that the gorilla tears the city apart)

Keep in mind Corsicana is not a college town or a resort community, but a largely blue collar exurb of Dallas and Fort Worth. Since 2000, Navarro County has been reliably Republican in Presidential elections, with Trump carrying the county by a 3:1 margin, despite a substantial black and Hispanic population, representing about one-third of the residents.

Most likely, the minority residents, particularly the blacks, are concentrated in Corsicana proper rather than in the rural portions of the county. The events in Tulia, Texas, a smaller town in the Panhandle, about 20 years ago, where a good portion of the black community was arrested in a drug bust, which later turned out to be instigated by a rouge cop, had an effect on small town politics in Texas. The local white gentry, who run the businesses and legal structure, tends to run scared of the blacks. That is not necessarily fear of the local blacks, but of the DFW and even national media.

I’m scratching my head trying to figure out how this is racist.
