What a lawless state
If they have the money to pay for a car, are they really to be considered the “most vulnerable’?
Good red light ticket setups are scams. In many places the city winds up causing more accidents because they go around reprogramming the yellow light segments to be very short, on purpose to issue more tckets and collect more revenue.
Camera tickets suck, as they are often set to blast you on the yellow, or coupled with short yellow transitions. They are analogous to speed traps.
But, this strikes me as more in the spirit of the High School “Promise Program” which enabled the Parkland shooter. Of course, anything fostered by Obama was really designed to normalize the statistically bad behavior of blacks. The killing of the mostly white Parkland HS students was collateral damage.
But, it might launch David Hogg’s career. /S
Red light cameras are nothing more than a money making machine. They have absolutely nothing to do with safety.
Leftists are okay with illegals running red lights and killing Americans, and they are okay with red light camera fines as a way of transferring wealth from productive Americans to their voters. What they are not okay with is the discovery that their illegal voters get most of those tickets.
“Red light cameras are nothing more than a money making machine. They have absolutely nothing to do with safety.”
I agree totally with that.
I don’t understand the “most vulnerable” bit.
Maybe they will set an income threshold below which the laws don’t apply?
They need to be gone from everywhere. Never understood how these ever passed constitutional muster. Plus, the clear abuse that seems too typical in their use to simply raise money rather than improve safety.
Look here: http://www.highwayrobbery.net/ for ways to beat red light camera tickets. The info is for CA, but probably applies to other states as well.
I went down to the courthouse and filed the paperwork to subpoena for the release of the source code of the software that was operating the camera on the day of the incident.
All defendants have the legal right to confront and cross examine their accusers in a court of law. In this case, the accuser was a robot. So I told them that I was asserting my right under the Constitution and they had no choice but to give me the source code.
They dropped the case like a hot rock.
Even here in liberal Minneapolis they were banned long ago as un Constitutional.
The ticket does not go to the driver of the vehicle. It goes to the owner of the vehicle.
I don’t have any vehicles in my name. They are in my company name. This would make me a defacto cop because I would have to determine who was driving at the time and rat them out.
They are nothing but a very lucrative scam.
“What a lawless state”
Name one that isn’t.
Red Light cameras are unconstitutional anyway...
Police need to actually get out their and patrol the streets. Red light and speed cameras are just a way of generating revenue for a city. While when a police officer pulls someone over they run the IDs of the person and can arrest on outstanding warrants and visually check the car and person for suspicious activity.
I got t-boned in an intersection by a red light runner... I don’t have a problem with these cams.
Getting t-boned wasn’t just a little fender bender. And this dude was really late on the red and hauling ass. I still look twice and three times before proceeding. And I’m still doing physical therapy after 30 years three and four times per week.
My uncle got t-boned at another red light back in the nineties. He lost his wife.
Even worse, in liberal Montgomery County, MD, red light camera tickets were/are given for right turn on red after stop violations. The technology for red light cameras was never intended to catch people who did not come to a full (and apparently long enough) stop befor turning right. When these violations were added, thenumber of tickets issued increased dramatically.

??
Could have sworn they’re pulling ‘em out of Jax because they’ve been voted out in Tally.
Got a few around the house, causing more problems then they were designed to ‘solve’ (presuming that anything BUT ‘raking in the $$$’ was the plan).
Washington, D.C. Has a particular speed camera that generates $10,000,000 in revenue ( I mean safety) annually. The speed limit drops 20mph in 30 feet with no notice. $150 fine. I may ultimately pay it but I’m going to make them earn it.
