But I thought AR-15’s were bad ??
Good. Smart move
“With bullets and everything? “
I always wonder that when I see ‘guards’ in places like airports and train stations. Are their guns loaded? If not do they even have ammo? I want to ask, but I know enough not to. But if I were a mayor, I’d certainly ask them. Because all it takes is one a-hole somewhere up the chain of command, and no one has bullets.
regular pistols would do fine, too
but... this will definitely help reduce the number of crazies acting out on campus
good!
Finally. The adults are starting to wake up.
It’s a good first step ...
Makes sense if one wants to reach out and touch an active shooter. Hope it has an excellent scope too.
Debbie Wasserman Shultz will pull the plug on this or Bloomberg .
I would imagine this statement is bunk. Most cops carry a pistol and and rifle in their car at least where I live, county sheriffs, constables small town cops and perhaps even the School ISD police carry rifles.
I heard there was a cop on campus, why no response on his response, or did he too run away?
If I was Trump, I’d hire Guiliani for a national wide “broken glass policy.” We have enough laws to crush this problem. Starting with the school district overlooking crimes by their students and the county sheriffs oking that. Guiliani went after all the minor crimes and worked their way up from there. We need way tougher enforcement.
Even after this, I’ve seen several liberal commenters say “but, I don’t want my child to have to see those guns on guards”
The point of having armed security is mostly deterrence, so the bad guys know schools are not unarmed soft targets. You don't have to have SWAT in there to accomplish that.
Just saw Judy Woodruff report this on PBS.
Yall are losing the argument.
Cooler heads will prevail.
Personally I think rifles are overkill and discreet CHL is all that need be applied
Probably good overall, but how long before youth-murderers figure out they can arm up by breaking a window or popping a trunk on a police vehicle? It would be a lot easier to bring 4 or 5 loaded mags in a backpack than a rifle.
Certainly says a lot about todays kids that cops must patrol them with “weapons of war”.
In 1974, Israel endured the Maalot Massacre in which Palestinian terrorists took 115 people hostage at Netiv Meir Elementary School. Twenty-two children and three others were killed and 68 injured.
Israel now requires schools with 100 or more students to have a guard posted. The civilian police force handles the entire security system of all schools from kindergarten through college

Trained and qualified? The leftist media acts as if it takes a formal weapons education, a degree in firearms if you will, to understand how to operate a weapon safely and effectively. It’s not high tech land, not rocket science, and it’s certainly not complex.
Kinda a knee jerk reaction that keeps the AR 15 debate alive.
I carry a CZ 82 loaded with 12 rds of Hornaday XTP.
No chirruns freaked out and concealed
This is outstanding!
WAY TO GO, FLORIDA!
I wonder how these kids are going to react when they realize all their autistic sperging has only turned their school into a prison.
Next Step:
Do the same thing at schools in other areas BEFORE another crazy shooter murders the students.
Don’t wait until 17 more are dead.
Aren’t those rifles evil?
The Ministry of Propaganda keeps telling me so.
