In a related story, the sheriff is trying to cover up his incompetence for not incarcerating Cruz under the Baker Act for at least one of the 39 times his deputies had to go to Cruz’ house.

“”””Sheriff in Florida shooting calls for power to detain over social media
by Daniella Silva
The county sheriff in charge of investigating the mass school shooting in Parkland, Florida, pleaded with lawmakers on Thursday to give police and doctors more power to involuntarily hospitalize people for psychiatric evaluation over violent and threatening social media posts.

The sheriff, Scott Israel, of Broward County, described the accused shooter’s social media posts as “very disturbing” at a news conference and asked state and federal legislators to expand the state’s Baker Act, which says a person can be detained against their will for up to 72 hours under certain circumstances.

Israel said the Baker Act allows law enforcement or medical professionals to confine a person involuntarily, “but you have to have a reason, you have to be able to articulate that they’re a threat to themselves or a threat to someone else.””””

Ya know, you’ll hear people laughing coast to coast next time the cops and FBI all stand in front of the cameras telling everyone, “If you see or hear anything suspicious call us, call the FBI or local police so we can do our jobs”.

This looks really bad...

We have far too many crazy people wandering around and no one wants to do anything about them.

1. Law enforcement ignores.
2. Social workers ignore.
3. Teachers ignore
4. Mental health doctors ignore.

There are probably some other groups who have a responsibility to deal with crazy people, but each group passes off the problem to someone else.

Then when one of these crazy people hurt someone, the leftists start screaming for more laws and regulations to not let it happen again.

But no amount of new laws will help when those responsible do nothing under the current laws.

My opinion is if he were a poor black kid, he would have been. I read the average home price in Parkland is $600,000.

I wonder where his brother is?

Brody Speno and his family are people I know. I can’t imagine what is going on in his mind having grown up with this kid.

“How was he not in prison?”

This is beginning to look a lot like the Patrick Purdy Stockton California school shooting years ago where the gunman had a criminal history. The guy should’ve never been walking the streets.

No one dealt with the problem because stupid liberals have told us to ‘be tolerant’ of aberrant behavior. They are wrong on this - just like they're wrong on almost everything.

Someone should have judged the situation with the killer years ago ... as ‘wrong’. There should have been a team to call in for help. A social network that backed up the adoptive mother. The woman was out of her league dealing with a young sociopath on her own.

The help should have come years before the shooting... back when the police were called the second or third time. A violent sociopath was in the process of becoming. He needed strict rules NOT “understanding’ and ‘tolerance’...

Our culture is failing.

And schools? They need 'active shooter' drills and training. It's time to throw out the stupid shallow 'musings' of brain-dead liberals and go back to the foundations of Western Civilization... our philosophies and our religions...

And now we learned the FBI had two separate tips sent in about him. He used his real name on YouTube and they still couldn’t figure out what to do.
