The San Antonio mayor is moving the Cenotaph in front of the Alamo to a nearby park. Part of “re-purposing” the Alamo. Wants to empathize its history as a mission. Part of the left’s mission to erase history. The city has spent an ungodly amount of money taking down confederate memorials (in the middle of the night) when the streets are going to Hell!

In 2011, then Attorney General Abbott (now Gov. of TX) issued a report against the Daughters of the Republic of TX, who’d managed the Alamo forever that they’d not been doing a good job because they were mere volunteers working with donated dollars. A power grab, imo. Gov. Goodhair Perry signed off to take the Alamo away from them and gave management to the General Land Office.

Lil’ cross-eyed Pee Bush got elected Land Commissioner due to name recognition and that voters don’t care about the office. Never mind he cashed his taxpayer paychecks while never setting foot in his newly elected office for the first year because he was following around Yeb! in his POTUS campaign. Pee promptly saw the Alamo as his baby and was anointed by LULAC (League of Latin American Citizens) as some big honcho. Basically, Viva La Raza! Viva Mexico! Viva La Reconquista! Viva illegals! Viva Guacamole!

Thanks for the background.

It’s a real shame, as there were Mexicans in the Alamo as well who fought for Texas independence.

I worry about the seemingly continual watering down of American history.

I have three books about the Alamo, including Walter Lord’s “A Time To Stand”.
