I wonder how the two groups of athletes get along?
North Koreans are required to wear the Kim Jong Un pin, South Koreans are not.
North Koreans can be put to death if they criticize the Kims, South Koreans...it matters not.
So, do they converse with each other? Can the South Koreans say “Dude, your leader is whacked, he killed his own nephew!”?
I’d love to be a fly on the wall!
With 229 cheerleaders..(minders).. for 22 athletes. I doubt they’ll say or attempt anything more than the accepted ‘voice’ of N.Korea’s Leader. They aren’t rooming together..so opportunity likely isn’t going to be for ‘conversation.
As one of the few NK leaders that is not travel sanctioned, he has a critical role in meeting with other world leaders and thereby finding ways around the economic sanctions.
Although his role is largely ceremonial while in NK, the fact that he is still alive, surviving all the purges through the years, and 90, attests to his political acumen.
He should have stayed home period, and then our athletes acting like brats. I will say one thing, if PDJT is grooming him to be his successor, he has given him some large piles of pony poop to shovel and deal with it stuff that will give him elephant skin to deal with the gig in 8 yrs. This was definitely one of them. This dance is worse than Thanksgiving with the crazy relatives...
Well put.
I hope VP encountered enough thankful S. Korean people outside the government, N. Korean defectors, and respectful US athletes to have made it worthwhile. Good grief!
We are so lucky to have him and his lovely wife represent us. Prayers that they be rewarded for all they go through!
God knew what He was doing when Pence was picked to be Trump’s VP.
Interesting, thanks!
