Someone needs to ask Bush if he allows anyone who wants, to live in his house.
First off, Bush's comments are pure BS because no one has picked cotton via manual labor in the United States for at least 50 years
Cotton is harvested and bailed by combine tractors and mostly automated equipment, which highlights the absurdity of importing unskilled, illiterate non English speaking manual labor into a high tech society based on increasingly automated methods of production
Seems to me that Bush's comments undercut the basic premises of his argument which is ultimately self defeating
I personally worked in a lot more than 105 degree weather ( for minimum wage, no less) doing a wide variety of jobs when I was young, including cotton farming so I'm calling BS on GW on this one too.
I dare Bush to try to produce a cotton picking illegal alien because it ain't gonna happen
Most illegals are working in non agricultural jobs and are displacing young Americans from entry level jobs like landscaping, construction, restaurant and other starter jobs that high school kids use to start their work careers
Illegals have destroyed the high paying skilled trades jobs that were the backbone of the working class American dream - and that's a fact
I'm a big proponent of merit based immigration to attract the worlds best and brightest to our economy. I'm also an employer so I like low wages as much as anyone, but I'm also smart enough to see that the economic dislocations created by the two tier legal/ illegal economy is unnecessarily destroying the foundations of the American economy

Precisely. Been saying this for a decade, illegal immigration is the modern-day slave trade. The elites require a class of people who are “happy” out there in the fields picking cotton, or changing their kids’ diapers, or scrubbing their toilets, or mowing their laws. First they had slavery, then Jim Crow, then illegal immigration. Maybe they’ll finally give it up once robots get good enough, but somehow I doubt it.
Why doesn’t the useless bush embarrassment of a family move to saudi arabia and stfu? What a family of useless malignant weasels.
I was just thinking along those lines the other day, but really, we haven’t had a President who even nominally placed America’s interests above the rest of the world’s since Ronald Reagan. Basically it’s been 30 years.

Remember the Bush administration’s talking point, ‘we need people who will do the jobs that Americans won’t do’? It was misleading at best. Americans can and will do those jobs, especially at beginner and entry level.
Which brings up an observation I have made. Notice how the younger generations like the Millennials are characterized as lazy, unmotivated and entitled? Is it a coincidence that Millennials were growing up in an environment were lower end / entry level jobs are being filled with illegals?
I was born in 1962. When I was a teen or working my way through college, I worked as a dishwasher, cutting grass for condominiums and laid sod for new home construction. It was tiring and back breaking work by I loved it. I look back at those days in fondness and sometimes I wish I could do that again as opposed to sitting in an office cubicle.
Bottom line is that these types of entry level/manual labor jobs BUILDS work ethic, character and goal setting.....things that our younger generations have trouble with. Hves illegal aliens hurt the work ethic of our youth? I think so and that there is a strong correlation to it. We may not be making fun of Millenials now if those dish washing / lawn cutting / sod laying jobs were available to them when they were in and just out of high school.
