Don’t blame McConnell. There are 51 republicans and only 46 or 47 would vote to abolish the rule, so it would not pass. The usual suspects, too.

Chain migration brings in about 800,000 a year already though, this would end chain migration, that will keep up year after year. I see this is a balancing act and a difficult matter.

The WH plan does NOT include a building a physical wall, rather a $25 billion wall trust fund.

The 1.8 million Dreamers is just an estimate - there may be many more. DACA is the smaller part of the Dreamers covered in this 'plan'.

Deport them all.

"The Democrats REFUSED to protect your borders." - Every House GOP ad from Labor Day to Election Day. House stays GOP.

Downside: We ain't getting a Wall. It was a first-year item, all or nothing. It's clear the Swamp will slowwalk it to eternity as a sop to the RINO free labor addicts - just enough porous borders to mow your lawn...

I’m willing to bet only 20% of DACAs will meet criteria for citizenship - and those that do, will be hard workers that will grow to hate taxes. I’m for a deal that looks like that.

The comments were surprisingly reasonable for the

But they don’t have to apply only to the budget. Tweak them to let this qualify.

Any Conservative or Centrist that embraces a plan, that isn’t needed, that gives amnesty to 1.8 million people, who for the most part, hate this country, is a moron.

Through surrogates, the Left will challenge every single aspect of this deal and get injunctions from favorable courts. When that happens, the family members will be climbing the wall like the zombies did in World War Z.

Florida is already a done deal. That state will be forever, Blue, with all the recent folks from Puerto Rico. Georgia is close behind. South Carolina coming up. All due to illegal immigration and the ridiculous notion of, BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP.

This bill is an insult to every single person that voted for the President. Just when I thought he was going to actually do something, he pulls this bullsh*t. He doesn’t have to make any deal, whatsoever. DACA is deader than disco in March. End it.

This is Trump bargaining. It’s the art of negotiation. He is giving them more than they asked for but in return, he is asking for something he knows they won’t give. That way he doesn’t have to give it and he wins the argument by being able to tell the country “I tried”

The WH bill is sham.”The plan seems eerily similar to the blueprint used for the 2007 Bush-Kennedy amnesty, which appeared to end chain migration, but wouldn’t actually end it for 17 years this one 20 years. It also does not cut illegal immigration but it does cut llegal immigration. There is also nothing about merit based immigration and e-verify.

“Under the White House framework, young-adult illegal border crossers and visa overstayers would get immediate benefits, including, most importantly, the right to compete with Americans in the permanent job market.

Trump’s 2016 ‘Phoenix Promise:’ No Consideration of Amnesty until ‘Illegal Immigration Is Memory of The Past’ this is part of what got trump elected Nov 2 Now he is throwing that promise in the trash. who wrote the WH immigration bill Schumer/Pelosi/Graham/McCain. If the WH wants to lose their base this BS will do it

The Goodlatte bill H.R.4760 may not be 100% perfect but it is a hell of a lot better than the BS coming out of the WH and senate this is the bill that should be voted on If the Dems like Schumer and graham don’t like it vote it down then move on

I think if this is a bad deal, the House, as we can thank them before with the gang of 8 bill, will not allow this kind of legislation to pass. I’m still undecided.

I don’t think South Carolina is in trouble with those kinds of demographics. The info you posted is probably correct with the other states and possible North Carolina too.

SC has crossover primaries, maybe that’s why Lindsay Graham keeps getting elected.

This is incomplete and sloppy—doubt by Steve Miller. No mention, for example, eVerify! And how about some clarity about the other 30-60 million illegal aliens. No more catch-and-release, just arrest-and-deport? Those two points, plus a discussion about birthright citizenship are needed.

Any plan that does not include an end to anchor babies is dead on arrival in my opinion. Unfortunately, that does not appear to be part of this proposal. Anchor Babies are the magnet causing illegal immigration. The idea that someone who is here illegally, or on vacation, could travel to the US (some 8 months into their pregnancy) and knock out an American citizen is insane and national suicide. This should have been ended decades ago, when the Democrats weren’t so brazen in their embrace of illegals.

I agree. If Senate GOP were on the same side with Trump, there would be no problem getting the wall.
