Thanks! I worked in hospital management up until a week ago so understand about what insurance pays (or doesnt)! Some of my coworkers are recently on Medicare so weve been discussing the options. Now to work harder to stay healthy...
Definitely AMAC. When people ask about retirement health and services, we always steer them to AMAC. They sure came through for us as we were drowning in confusion before that.
As I said I get my prescriptions from the VA. My wife pays about $80 a month for part D drug coverage. Also, I'm from Pennsylvania but the hospital stay I mentioned above was in Florida where I'm spending the winter. Since that stay I've gotten a regular primary care doctor down here as well as a gastroenterologist and a cardiologist.
I work hard on that too, but am limited to just diet changes. Gastropresis leaves me little choice in that area. Vitamins and Minerals have become a staple of life.
Half my health was destroyed by FDA approved Drugs. Especially the Gastro, bones, botched surgeries yes plural 1 cost me half my hearing, and now with these new pain laws they are taking away the only thing Cold Turkey that has worked with out side effects and NO addiction for the Perpherial Neuropathy (tried 12 other drugs) caused by Spine Degeneration pinching nerves in arms/hands, back, legs/feet. Valium @ 10 mg twice a day, not perfect, but better than nothing.
I see the Neurologist again today. To play guinea pig for another Side Effect riddled FDA Crap drug.
We just shelled out $5K for Lasix to correct badly done Cataract implant. Supposedly a reputible surgeon left me with a cornea shaped like a football, wrong strength lens, NOT amused at all. Medicare/Tricare considers it cosmetic, even for a proved medical need. Had to pay to get the clogged oil glands in my eye lids scrubbed open. Not a covered expense. Cataract implants left me with servere Dry Eye Syndrome. Had to have all 4 tear duct cauterized shut and still need lubicating eye drops.
Choose your plan wisely, old Pochantas is still going after singler payer socialized healthcare as is old Bernie.
