Good observation.
Another case of democracy driven by emotion and brain-washed left. This is how democracy is gamed. There are people in the world who spent their lifetime to perfect this skill. Would S. Koreans have another bipolar mood swing and go completely in the other direction? We'll see.
Tiger: and I am stil confused! What happened to that woman president they had? She was ousted? Was she good?
But she lacked basic political instinct. Even such things as reward allies who worked hard to get her elected. She also pissed off local movers and power brokers, by not cutting them their share of power which they think they should have. She made many enemies who are supposed to be on her side of political spectrum. She also had a tendency to cave in political hysteria whipped up by the left. In the end, she was done by disgruntled elements in her parties. They figured that they found a way to oust her and take over. Instead strident left took over and they were completely marginalized. They are local version of swamp, permanent political elites.
A similar parallel exists in U.S.. GOPe want to destroy Trump and their own party and its political base in the process, completely marginalizing themselves. These suicidal Swamp dwellers have to be stopped at all cost.
Oh dear. So she is wrongfully imprisoned?
Thank God Trump has instincts...but I am sure even he can’t trust anyone, which is why I understand he wants to keep Jared and Ivanka around - which I don’t mind. Even Bannon caved!
This is a part of vicious revenge on her and her late father's legacy. She had questionable judgment in hanging out with a questionable woman, but anything more than that.
Got it. And final question: was her father bad in your view? I remember reading about him when she won...
Considering the situation at the time, it would have been hard to push it without strong and sometimes iron-clad leadership. Every major economic initiative could have been derailed by those who were into post-colonical leftwing politics sweeping much of the third world. Only those who beat this managed to have prospering economy. His legacy infuriates the left. It is the indictment of their political narrative, prosperous S. Korea in stark contrast to N. Korea.
Everything in S. Korea boils down to the confrontation between the two: Kim Il-sung crowd and Rhee Sygman/Park Chung-hee crowd. The former has to be destroyed convincingly. There is more than enough justification for it. With it, the mindless Kim Il-sung cult of N. Korea and some in S. Korea has to be wiped out. Kim Il-sung cult is in its final frenzy. Whether it will lead to their final downfall or final victory depends on actions we are taking.
Hope selling that coal to North Korea was worth it. There’s more where this came from :)
Got it. Very interesting.
I understand that the Kim Il Sung sympathizers clearly need to be out - but everything you say about the Conservative authoritarians sounds like what Russians say to me about Putin...who I REALLY don’t like. :(
Sucks the options have to be that way for countries in so much turmoil.
I could see how the naive young crowd falls for the hippie dippie “lets unite” and “down with America” propaganda — but hopefully this nonsense helps they see the light and a sound-minded conservative with less baggage leader will emerge for next round.
Some authoritarians do better than others. He can do better but apparently won't.
Thanks. Just saw your ping.
