If McSally can win easier then sorry she doesn’t bash Trump and votes with him most of the time. She’s not the enemy. Also, McCain’s seat should come up soon and Ward can take that and run as an incumbent so if she IS a weaker candidate she can use that advantage.

No offence to octogenarian FReepers.

No offense taken. Plus, I agree with you.

Sounds like California in 1986, when a dozen conservative candidates divided up the conservative vote during the primary. Ed Zschau, ("Zschau as in Mao"), the only leftie on the ticket, got the nomination with just a third of the vote.

In the general election, some conservatives held their noses and voted for Zschau, some voted for Democrat Alan Cranston, some, like me, voted third party, and many stayed home. Cranston won re-election.

I pray that President Trump and all TPTB can prevail upon Arpaio to reconsider. He did lose his latest election for sheriff and is totally unelectable!!!
First, an otherwise safe senate seat in Alabama was blown to smithereens by nominating a terrible candidate in Moore.

Now, Arizona is being put in greater jeopardy, diluting critical support in a crowded field of primary candidates.

Not to mention, the horrifying prospect of Mittens being elected in Utah.
I still suspect that he would spend night and day conspiring with his former running mate and current Speaker Paul Ryan to undermine any more advancement of President Trump’s MAGA agenda.

At this point, Kelli Ward looks to be the best choice in Arizona and I hope somebody of high caliber will run against Romney in Utah.

The mere thought of the RATS or RINOs like Romney winning next November is beyond loathsome.

I hope the MAGA GOP base will be sufficiently motivated to stem this nightmarish tide of the RATS regaining power in Washington, D.C.!!!

The “electable candidates” are not the Constitutional ones, the Conservative ones.

I understand where you're coming from. But you need to understand where I'm coming from.

This particular mid-term election is crucial for keeping the Republican majority. Because it keeps Trump's agenda rolling.

I understand they slow-walked his agenda last year, costing Trump valuable time. But I think a corner has been turned, starting with the tax cuts. Trump isn't going to budge on the Wall and other initiatives related to a DACA deal. Ryan isn't going to include DACA with another CR.

You have former Never Trumpers like Graham and Corker apologizing and grudgingly supporting Trump. Even Flake has voted for the tax cuts and will probably vote for some, if not all, of Trump's agenda in 2018. He's just bashing Trump for his donor's sake.

If the Dems take over Congress you can kiss this country good-bye. Because unlike the Republicans, they will use every parliamentary and Constitutional and judicial order to overturn Trump's agenda and return the U.S. back to its fetal position Obama state.

I couldn’t agree more. The Roy Moore experiment should’ve been an instructive one. We have to find a way to hold these seats.

Kelli Ward and Sheriff Joe are good conservatives but they both will go the way of Judge Moore if they make it to the general.

Okay, McSally is not as conservative on some issues as Ward or the Sheriff. But she will likely win. She is the most conservative candidate who can win.

Do you really want a Rat to take this seat? We don’t need another Joe Donelly or Claire Macaskill in the senate.

You are the idiot. McCain is not up for reelection. He was last reelected in 2016 and would not be due for reelection until 2022

Don’t trust Sheriff Joe. The crimes he was convicted of were shams, but he has actual scandals and will become Arizona’s own Roy Moore. He lost bright red Maricopa County by 13 points. He used to win it by 40. Like Moore, expect him to get a lot of strange liberal funds.

I'm pretty sure McCain won't last to 2022

Senators affect the entire country.

Indeed, they do. Thanks to an Arizona Senator, Dennis De Concini, we lost the Panama Canal. And he got in because the vicious fight between the two conservative candidates vying for the seat during the primary election divided the Copper State's conservatives and made the nomination worthless.

Republicans now almost HAVE to run as many women candidates as possible, because you know Gloria Allred and her Smear Team will just falsely accuse any male Republican candidates of sexual assault many years ago (and Big Media will run with it 24-7) ...

The "Smear Team" will just adopt a new game plan to smear Republican Women as well! There are precedents! However, it is easier to smear males at this time...

Not quite yet I believe, but he is not running for reelection, which is a good thing.

Yikes!!!
Just saw on Washington Times’ website that John Kasick is expected to enter the (crowded) field of candidates to run against Sherrod Brown in Ohio.

OMG!! Mittens and Kasick both in the Senate!!
It’s a wonder we haven’t heard anything about Low Energy Jeb challenging Bill Nelson in Florida.

Arpaio should stay out of it so Ward can get it...”

I like joe but he should not have done this he cannot win statewide. We lose the seat or McSally gets it. Ward is the best choice by far

It’s actually 96% McSally votes with President Trump. Not just 90 percent.

The “fear factor”, the old standby of the RINO “moderate” political machine.

Its worse with the Democrats, really worse we always hear.

Principles still matter and there are none in the GOP members of the House and Senate.

I voted for Donald Trump in 2016 but not for them and still would not vote for them even as they try to tie themselves to Donald Trump.

Thats actually the false model that gives us a minority disguised as a majority. Ward can easily win and will be a much better senator. We’ve lost race after race of Romney like ‘moderates’ who are deemed the most conservative who can win, but cannot win the general because they do not motivate anyone to vote and inspire the same leftist outrage as a real conservative. The sheriff needs to eat out and let Ward win. Then, when McCain kicks it, McSally is a good appointee from the political class.
