“For produce, we shop at Aldis”

They just remodeled out Aldi’s store and added a whole section of organic produce. I also buy there.... Milk typically $1.50 to $1.75 per gallon.

They sell so many bananas that they are always green on their display.

If the article is correct, every employee is going to get 60 day’s pay after a WARN act lawsuit.

I belong to Costco and Sams Club. I buy gas at Costco, and sometimes shop there, but I prefer Sams Club. Here are my reasons. They have many of the same items and deals that Costco has. Parking is FAR easier at Sams Club. Checking out is FAR easier at Sams Club. I do a lot of entertaining and put on events. I like the desserts at Sams Club better than Costco. They have the same type of meats and baked goods, etc. that Costco has, and are very close in cost. They have their brand of toilet paper and other staples just like Costco. If I can’t find what I need at Sams Club, I drive a few miles to Costco.

Sam's has better office supplies, takes American Express, and is far less crowded, so you can get in and out quickly when necessary. Better for small business customers, in those respects.

But otherwise, Costco is better.

That's what lighter fluid is for.

Well they would have closed them anyway so might as well trumpet the good news. If those stores are going under financially what else are they supposed to do.

Perhaps there was union organizing activity going on in these locations.

Doubtful. The unions would have been all over the news with it.

I notice that most of these locations are quite...diverse.

Coincidence?

I locked my doors, windows rolled up, and my weapon handy when I drive down Getwell Road.

My boss and compadre belongs to Costco-I’ve been there with him a few times when we have a jobsite near enough to the city outskirts for that to be convenient. Costco is well stocked with some knowledge of merchandising, provides decent customer service and has a better class of customers, too.

By contrast, my guy is really into us shopping together-he has a Sam’s card. He lives/works in the damn city, so when it is my turn to stay at his place, I get dragged there. In my opinion, there is no rhyme, reason or consistency to what is stocked, or indication the item will ever be stocked again if they are out of it. The layout is maze-like, the employees not good at customer service or product location-and the place is full of obese broads in leggings buying junk food by the case wandering up and down the aisles-makes me want to do what we learned do with balky cows-wave my arms and yell hyaaa, heifer-move it-hyaaa!

I’d do Costco rather than Sam’s-but that is just my opinion...

I guess it would depend on your local store. I've shopped both and prefer Sams. It seems at my stores, similar items are slightly better quality at Sams. I chalk that up to Walmart's volume discounts that Costco doesn't enjoy. Customer service and store quality are comparable with both on the plus side from the other posters opinions. My local Costco is fairly new and it's bright and modern, however our Sams, while older, is currently getting a makeover and will be as up to date as Costco. For higher priced merchandise (Jewelry, Fine Wines, Electronics and better quality furniture), Sams slightly beats on price and/or quality, at my stores.

My two cents.

And you can’t beat Costco’s $1.50 huge hotdog and cola!

that sounds great!
i have friends who have all of them..costco, sams, walmart, and sometimes additional somewhat-similar stores..near their homes

i very much like to patronize some of our small merchants, and do. but there ARE some genuine advantages to having these big stores, too.....and from all that I experience (and hear), all of these three, anyway, are pretty good with their customers

that sounds good. you are fortunate to have your choice of several of these big stores, too....
the only difficulties I’ve ever had with costco or walmart, they fixed promptly. having never been in a Sams, I have no idea how they treat their customers but friends who shop there say they are also good this way

I had a Sam’s Club card for a while. Was not impressed. Costco way better. Even BJ Wholesale’s was better but I haven’t been in one of those for 10 years or more so not sure how they are today.

Sam’s Club helped raise our family. It suits us better than Costco because of selling tires and batteries. But it’s our only choice. My son and wife were believers in Costco but moved to a town with both stores and decided Sam’s fit them best. Maybe Costco is somewhat more upscale. Maybe Sam’s is cheaper and has bigger range of products. Maybe city/country kind of issues.

Well put and the Sam’s snack bar is better. Pretty good and cheap pizza.

What if you had just renewed your Sam’s membership? How do you get a refund?
