Crazy Roy 2020!!!
Moore is not well liked in his home state.never has been it seems.
In what way exactly would a Republican be nice? Especially considering the fact that they DON’T DO A DAMNED THING OTHER THAN LIE.
Right...hoorrible candidate. The only R in Al that couldnt win.
Moore is a fighter, and he fights for what is righteous and constitutional. That’s the type of representation we need in DC, not more of what we have.
Great post and accurate.
In the beginning, I was a Brooks supporter. Even after Moore defeated Brooks, I still considered Brooks a better candidate.
But when the media started accusing Moore of being a pedophile, then I became angry and supported Moore with a vengeance. I could see very clearly just what was going on. Especially when the White Female Al Sharpton, Gloria Allred, became involved.
There is a lot of blame to go around. I don’t want to sound racist because I know there are black conservatives but, unfortunately, most African Americans in Alabama vote Democrat. And they turned out in huge numbers in this election.
Another problem group was the well-to-do Suburban women. Strange hails from the Birmingham suburb of Mountain Brook, a VERY affluent area. Other affluent suburbs such as Homewood and Vestavia Hills are strong democrat or GOPE strongholds.
The local news interviewed an affluent White woman from Mountain Brook. She expressed horror at the thought of a “pedophile” becoming Senator and proclaimed how “Unchristian” Moore was because he opposed muslim refugees and was racist. It’s hard to fight against that kind of stupidity.
You are spot on about McConnell. If he and the GOP had thrown their support behind Brooks then, most likely, Brooks would be our new Senator. McConnell owns a big share of the blame.
To make things even more depressing for Alabama conservatives, today Brooks announced that he has “high risk” Prostate Cancer and requires surgery. When it rains, it pours.
Brooks is in our prayers. He is a good man.
He’s absolutely correct. Now, where are they?
The Left will go with color, gender, “firsts” with little regard for background, experience, etc. (See 0bama for reference) We as a group are far more discerning...but still end up settling for the candidate picked for us (my votes for McCain and Romney for reference)
Donald Trump was the second time I voted in a Presidential election for the man I really wanted. The first was Reagan.
I hope he has a complete recovery and a very treatable form of prostate cancer. I hope he runs again.
Good summary and analysis. Thanks.
Agree. Moore was a horrible candidate.
25% turnout. Moore got about 12% of eligible voters. People of Alabama know Roy Moore. They didn’t turn out for him.
Even his home county didn’t turn out for him. Seems a lot of FRers from outside Alabama wanted Moore. Alabama has known him Roy Moore 30+ years and said no.
And those who helped him beat out Strange then opted to not truly support him while the Left went all-in.
If someone came up with a voting system that was cheat proof, how long would they survive? I think the same amount of time a 2nd Lt survived after being dropped into a hot zone in Nam...15 minutes. (from the movie “Rules of Engagement”)
Anything created by a human being, can be corrupted by a human being.
You nailed it ...I go back to Sessions, he knew ... national level races will bring these types of accusations out , as it’s safer as far a recriminations are concerned ... that’s why these things didn’t come out in state and local races
