Well....they can refuse to go in to recess....but there are 2 kinds of refusals for recess.
They can either stay and work in order to deny recess appointments
Or do a fake work scheme, where they get to go home for the holidays and still say they are in session.
They have been playing games with Pro-Forma Recess for a long time.
If Moore is elected, he will NOT. vote for pro-forma. And I believe that the vote must be unanimous.
This is chief amongst reasons that McConnell is so freaked by Moore
Did you see that article about the Chinese press calling CINC a failure? Looks like they need a little ‘help’ with their diplomacy.
Let's hope that it stays that way. Only in New York City, where the political center is somewhere to the Left of Karl Marx, could Giuliani be considered a Republican or a conservative. Just about anywhere else in the US he'd be a Clinton-style Democrat.
Bolton will probably get us into war. He has been labeled for years as a war hawk. I wonder who labeled him? He does tend to lean that way(IMHO). regardless he is probably the smartest person and would handle the job very well. Rinos dont want him. Libs fear him. He speaks his mind and will never get picked.

It’s not just a label. Every time I see him on Fox News he’s saying we should go in and attack North Korea NOW.
Not only that.
The character, skills and abilities required to succeed in the Senate or House are the exact opposite of those needed to succeed in a high level executive position.
In congress you need to be able to go-along-to-get-along - to compromise regularly as a member of a group with ever shifting goals and values.
To horse-trade on a regular basis and often vote against your conscience today so you might have a chance to do better tomorrow.
But those skills are practically useless and often lead to failure for executives.
To be an effective high level executive you have to be in control, to set objectives, to lead not follow.
To stand alone, to be steadfast and not seek compromise and consensus with people who have different goals and values.
Jeff Sessions is the perfect example of a man with the ability and temperament to succeed in congress but fail to make the transition to become a strong executive.
I would have trusted him more had he been
associated with the FFA but that is just me.
No thanks to Bolton. If I wanted Bush administration retreads, I would have voted for Jeb instead of for Trump in the primaries, and if I wanted hardcore neocons I would have voted for Lindsey Graham.
Yes
So only unprincipled amoral $h!tweasels can be successful but then people wonder why DC and everything coming from it is such a mess. I dont like living in your world. I reject your reality and substitute my own.
Pompeo thinks Russia did it.
“When you openly criticize the boss, it was only a matter of time...”
Trump was adamant about getting the PA out of DC. Tillerson ignored it. Bye bye. On a good note, he did drain foggy bottom a bit as a lot of career leftists... err diplomats left.
I question the story as the NY Times spun up this story..
If his replacement is Pompeo you can look for all the LBGT nonsense to come to a halt at the State Dept.. Pompeo is a devout Christian.
Good points, and I agree.
I agree with Vlad. I don’t see where he said that good executives have to be amoral and unprincipled as you injected. He just stated that different jobs require different skills.
Buh-by Rex!
Rex "Gay Boy Scout" Tillerson
He does have a Boehnerish air about him, doesn’t he? Throw on some tan in a can and they could be mistaken for one another.
“Ambassador John Bolton - please pick up the red courtesy phone ...”
HEAR HEAR YES
Didn’t he orchestrate a downsizing of that swamp?
Thinks Russia did what?
