My opinion on Moore is, we need that Senate seat. But he dissembled (yes, I call it a lie, if I am honest) about his dating and seeking out teen girls when he was in his thirties. Still, we need that seat.
How is that “being a troll?” Can’t a freeper have an opinion? I know most of you think he is and has always been pure as the driven snow, or don’t care whether he predated on teens, but can’t someone think differently?
We had school resource officers so you would not get a phone call you would get called to the office where the resource officer would see you.
If an official had to see you in his official capacity your parents and the school would be notified. Then you. They sure would not ask to speak to you directly by calling the school. And any Principal who overheard a conversation of a social nature sure as heck would read you the riot act and inform your parents of the abuse of school rules about phone calls during school hours. Then word would get out that somebody lied and pretended there was some kind of emergency in order to speak to a student. FOR A DATE. That adult making the call would be history and everyone would know why.
At a certain point the DA’s office does handle forged instruments. But a business would never send a flunky to deal with the DA’s office. Cause it’s like legal official business that requires like a real grownup who owns like the company, for real man. (Sorry reading these ridiculous “news” accounts inspires my idjit speech to come forward.)

A bounced check is not a forged instrument though, it’s just a bounced check. I generally deal with the bounced checks at our business and law enforcement is never involved. Our bank resubmits once for free and if it still doesn’t clear they return it to me and I hunt the customer down and get paid by credit card or cash.
I doubt that stolen or forged checks are returned to the presenting bank, much less the business that accepted them. I would think that the bank they were drawn on would keep them and contact law enforcement directly.
Nowadays paper checks are rare. Most people use debit cards. I haven’t written a personal check in five years or more.

Officially once bounced checks come to the attention of the DA the offense is called “Uttering a forged instrument.” You are fortunate that you have not had to go beyond resubmitting the check to the bank or tracking down the customer.
