Oregon used to have two squishy moderate “republican” senators named Packwood and Hatfield. When Packwood declared that he was retiring, the knives came out. All of a sudden the media that had coddled and supported him for years stabbed him in the back and brought out all the saved up sexual assault claims they had sat on for years and years.
