Oh don’t get me wrong, if they started up a war it could get quite brutal and thoroughly destructive, it would be triply existential for both sides: oil + country + religion.

Though oil prices would skyrocket, the world would not be worse off if both those countries were converted to smoking holes in the ground. Though the Iranian people by and large are not our enemies.

Furthermore, the Saudi-friendly prime minister of Lebanon abruptly resigned, and many other elements of the Lebanese government are loyal to the Shiite regime in Iran.

I've read this twice today. Could someone please tell me how this is good for Saudi Arabia or a sign of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's consolidation of power? I'm not following this.

It’s more likely Iran would invade the Saudi’s. Southern Iraq is majority Shia, they might cheer Iran on.

And, the Shia minority in Saudi Arabia mostly live along the Persian Gulf, in and amongst the oil wells by the way. If the Shia in Saudi Arabia start raising hell they could well hamper oil production, the Saudi’s only real source of income.

A bit juvenile in production, but some good points are made...

W and the Saudi king had quite a bromance. Lots of hand-holding. So I naturally assumed that they had taken it to the next level.

You know your Shiite wackos! But then the Sunni Saudis have their wacky Wahabis and Salafists.

People like to say there are not that many Shiite Muslims in the world. Big mistake. In the Middle East + Persia the Shiites are 30-35% of all Muslims which is competitive.

Maybe the Saudi are stocking up on extra missiles & rockets before the shooting starts?

Those weapon makers such as Lockheed Martin have been racking in the Giga Bucks for a long time now even without the middle east sales. Now with the increased tempo of the war drums between these 2 sponsors of Islamic terror I'd say let loose the dogs of war. However my SOLE concerns is the inevitable increase in the price of oil.

I was surprised; If you browse the vid in post #64, apparently the Iranian air force is embarrassingly obsolete relative to the Saudis. This, plus apprehension about an Israeli preemptive strike may be why they have made such a big deal out of getting such advanced anti-aircraft hardware from the Russians. Maybe the Russians just want to sell the latest most expensive gear. Or both.

I can’t tell you I have any good notion of how such a war would unfold. I tend to doubt it would be directly between KSA & the Iranians. Both those parties like to engage in proxy wars and they may just ramp up what they already have going 2 or 3 levels. And then...?

In this case, Belgium is spelled IRAQ. Also the Arabian gulf is not that large to cross. Minutes by jet.

Apparently many of the older neocon/globalist influenced conservatives on here do to. We see many Freepers swallowing the Saudi narrative whole.
