good comment, I forwarded it on to an anti Trumper in St.Paul who lives in Austin half the year. He’s very conservative but claims to hate Trump.

There is another meaning to the word "perceived",and I believe that the author meant this meaning

become aware or conscious of (something); come to realize or understand. "his mouth fell open as he perceived the truth" synonyms: discern, recognize, become aware of, see, distinguish, realize, grasp, understand, take in, make out, find, identify, hit on, comprehend, apprehend, appreciate, sense, divine;

Agree, but for one thing: this is the best article describing PDJT that we’ve seen since he set foot on center stage. This is the same we Trumpsters have seen before he began his journey into the OO. A++ to Jim Dicks. The man gets it.

BTW - thanks for posting. What a pleasant way to begin the day. :)

It was an expression that is timeless.

They sill exist. Bureaucraps. Headshake.

A very conservative guy who lives in the heart of liberalism in both Minnesota and Austin? What’s that fun at the he must be very unhappy about his local politics.

...In the United States today, we have more than our share of the nattering nabobs of negativism. They have formed their own 4H Club the hopeless, hysterical hypochondriacs of history.

Spiro Agnew

True then, true now

"Donald Trump is an all-around smartie. The left underestimates him, "

I can't see how ANYONE can fail to understand at least this one thing......NOBODY becomes a billionaire without being both smart and talented enough to use those smarts. And unlike Gates, Jobs, Bezos, etc, he did it the old-fashioned way.

This is true but the Donald didn’t just wake up one morning and think he would run for President. There are interviews going back a ways where he does state he had political ambitions. He also said he supported 0 in 2008 but was deeply disappointed in what happened once he took power and essentially that was the main catalyst along with the state of the country that made him decide to run.

The left simply looks at superficials and thought he was a joke. They felt the same with Reagan as a dumb actor. Reagan had been in politics a long time when he ran in 1980 and his writings show he was a thoughtful person and not how the left perceived him.

I think what is so jarring about President Trump is how different he is compared to the typical career politician. Once you get past that it is easy to like him a lot if you give him a chance.

And thank the Lord that Trump is in the White House. We have had nothing but zeros there for a long, long time. Unfortunately most other government positions are filled with zeros.

Just review where we are today. Debt that could be repaid only through bankruptcy or a form thereof. Loss of freedom of speech. A government controlled mostly by incompetents and ignoramuses. A so-called education system that is brainwashing students with lies and almost no education.

I still haven’t the faintest idea how he goes down into the teacher preparation programs and gets out the liberal thought controllers and replaces them with even NEUTRAL people. If any still exist.

The quakers provide a valuable service in that without them jittering in the background, you couldn't know that you are standing still.

Well phrased! Sounds like fundamental physics. Doesn’t get more fundamental.

The fact that the liars are there to be fought is our fault for electing them and not getting rid of them when their lies became apparent. But their presence is a fact. Bush bowed under attacks and tried to imply he was better than they were because he didn’t fight back. Now we have a warrior at the helm who is our champion against the fact that those liars exist. Thank goodness enough people saw the truth to help him save this country before it went down in flames. He isn’t there DESPITE the liars. He’s there BECAUSE the liars exist. I LOVE our President!

POTUS Trump is a former Liberal who decided to take the time to read the Constitution.

He is not an Ideologue, he is a Populist.

He is the Republican version of Harry Truman.

Unlike most of his Predecessors (especially the Clinton's and the Obama's), he will leave Office with less Wealth than when he attained it.

I agree. Trump is in same category as George Washington, one of the colonies' richest men, who left his beloved Mt. Vernon to serve as command-in-chief, and then as the first President.
