There are many resort hotels in the Candado area near the old San Juan area. I lived in PR for several years when working for Uncle Sam and found them to a copy cat of La Vegas. Good food, good entertainment and casinos. Most are concrete structures and I suspect they survived Maria quite well. I can assure you that is where you will find all the media and politicians pouring into PR.
