DACA was not yet challenged in court, unlike DAPA (I think that is the correct acronym). DAPA lost. DACA was about to be challenged in court.
It had to be rescinded because it was illegal.
I am not the one trying to play word games.
The only way this action becomes legal is to change the law. Not enforcing the law in such a broad manner has long been considered illegal. Such non enforcement decisions by the executive are valid only on a case by case basis.
BTW - if it were law, then Trump could not simply rescind it. Obama admitted this himself when he rightfully declared he did not have the authority back in 2014 or so.
Yet as you say, it was never challenged in court. So its legal status was never actually determined, was it? So therefore to claim that it was illegal is an opinion - which is fine - but nothing more.
Your sophistry is magical. As I mentioned, the companion program already lost, and was on the same footing, legally.
Have a great evening, FRiend.
Thank you for those links.
What an absolutely dreadful person she is.
.
I guess she no longer finds the thought “horrifying” like she did during her campaign.....
"Sophistry" LOL. Nice deflection for a stubborn individual refusing to consider alternative ideas. As I said, you are welcome to your opinion, but don't go around with such a dogmatic attitude pretending that you and you alone are the sole holder of all that is truth.
Does not matter that the companion program lost. DACA was never challenged. If you wish to believe that DACA was likewise rendered illegal, that is again, your opinion. Nothing more.
We can agree to disagree. You of course, will no doubt go on enjoying your self-made role as the Oracle of DACA legality.
Yes, we can agree to disagree, FRiend.
I was extremely punchy yesterday due to a terrible case of jet lag. Thank you for accepting my own sophistry jabs and returning them in fair manner, and I apologize for the tone of some of my posts.
We do disagree here. We both have our opinions, with justifications for each. I thank you for disagreeing without being disagreeable, and I hope I have managed to do the same, despite my punchiness.
At least Phyllis was funny.
