Thoughts and prayers for everyone in Irma's path, including you, SE Mom.
What is this Zello everyone is talking about? Is it an app? Thanks...
Yeah, now we’re talking serious construction. That beam is sometimes called a bond beam. It’s a row of blocks that have a V-shaped cavity in the top. You put some rebar in the V, and then fill the channel with concrete.
Your point about keeping the roof on is very well taken. Serious roof trusses and lots of hurricane straps.
Looks like a direct hit on Marco Island.
I watched the short video.
My baby boy Didnu Nuffin!
Plastic Bag Guy on WPLG needs help.
I usually can’t watch him at all either - was working on my first cup of coffee so I wasn’t all that alert - yup, that must have been what was going on :-) I mute the same folks you do, but I rarely watch FOX these days.
“Lootey” on the Loot!
Thank you both.
I can’t stand Shep Smith. Gotta admit MSNBC has had some good coverage of the storm and ABC.
Shep is the worst.
This guy is live in the middle of the storm. In the eye wall right now - Marco Island.

The Call to Repartitions - CHARGE!
TECO said they were shutting off this morning around 10, but they have revised that and said they’ll keep power in as long as possible.
We bugged out yesterday when the track changed to pass within 2 miles of our house. Our house was retrofit after Andrew, but my wife didn’t want to test it in the NW quadrant of this storm. Anyway, there was a steady convoy of electric company trucks headed south on 75. Gas trucks and National Guard convoys with heavy equipment were the only ones headed south. Everyone is as prepared as possible. It’s in God’s hands now.
Oh yeah, lots of flooding on east coast already. Parts of Miami and all the way up.
Thanks! We’ve been getting steady rain bands coming through for few hours now, not too breezy. Expecting weather around 6-7.
It’s an app for phones and it works like a walkie talkie, but with everyone on your channel able to hear what you broadcast.
The Cajun Navy used it to dispatch rescuers and recon.
It’s like a scanner that you can talk to and hear.
It would also be a very useful tool for families to keep in touch. You can download it and create your own channel.
A lot of people who have lost power are using it to receive tornado warnings and emergency info from people who are out of state and monitoring the news.
It’s fascinating. Just people who care out there trying to help.
It works on wi-fi and cell data.
“They good kids, honor students, turning dey life around, dindu nuffin, gentle giants...”
What is the matter with some folks?
Do you have Zello?
the title says its from hurricane Irma but if you listen to the video and the guy with the shotgun it was taken in Texas during Harvey..
Praying for you
