We should bargain for more.
DACA is over. Its a done deal. If the House and Senate pass an amnesty bill for the DACA Dreamers it is sure to be vetoed by Trump. You can bet there wont be enough votes in either the House or the Senate to override such a veto. This also smokes out the Congresscritters or Senator scumbags who fall in with the amnesty pushing crowd so they can be primaried out. Trump wins again! Still winning!
No.
Trump has followed through on his promises...so some here think now he’s gonna fold on amnesty? Just because he says comprehensive, doesn’t mean ha has the same thing in mind Flake, McCain, Ryan, and turtle do. Trump has not yet stabbed us in the back.
I don’t think the cheap labor aspect is as critical as the CONSUMER angle of these imports; here in NJ they are desperately needed to prevent ghost towns from appearing (”Detroitification”). The teachers’ unions need clients, landlords need tenants, and businesses need customers (even if they aren’t working - taxpayers provide the “walking around” money).
Every place that is a “sanctuary city” (or state) wants them to replace a fleeing (or dying) population of Americans.
They need pliant sheep to rule, not Americans with constitutional rights and protections.
Sadly, Trump has flip-flopped and now supports DACA amnesty.
Good points-everyone going crazy on either side of the issue is wasting their energy. No DACA will ever be deported!
I don’t think so either; even with open borders, NJ is bleeding people (the illegals realize there is no funding for their free sh!t anymore, and they are being used to fill abandoned neighborhoods on the fringes of urban ghettoes).
What is there for Congress to do?
All true and so much more.. walling them in wasn’t the promise!
When you give its hard to take away.
> The President should have just ended Obamas memo thus giving no time for congress to act.
Exactly.
This is a disgrace and a huge huge insult to his supporters.
Yep - and trying to protect the feckless Congress. If DACA becomes legal - it’s on the lawmakers themselves who have ignored a huge problem for decades. What really irks them is that next year is an election year for a number of them and they will either have come up with their “solution” or not.....might possibly give any conservatives who want to challenge them some red meat...
We should have deployed Guard units and closed the border the first week Trump was in office. Closing the border would solve all of these problems in the long run.
But neither party wants the border closed. They want unchecked immigration for various reasons.
Many illegals file tax returns. Many pro-illegal groups aggressively seek them out to file tax returns. .... especially those who game the system for EITC ... Earned Income Tax Credit.
Of course, those helping the illegals to file keep most of the EITC money and the illegals get very little of it.
Depends. If you're a prominent Democrat, or can convince Democrats to support your "cause" - all of them.
I defy anyone to explain what the hell Trump’s position on DACA is at this moment.
Because I don’t have a clue.
I think the odds are 50/50 that we come out of this with some type of large scale amnesty is exchange for funding a wall, in, oh 2021 or something like that.
The Dems smell blood in the water here.
Good luck on legalizing DACA through Congress, there is no real support, just a lot of talk and posturing.
Not even Obama was willing go there when the Democrats had a filibuster proof majority.
The chances of DACA bill reaching Trumps desk are pretty much zero in an election year.
Trying to pass DACA will be like Repeal of ObamaCare on steroids
You’re right. They have succeeded in decreasing the white population and encourage minorities to immigrate and breed. If that’s not institutional racism against whites, I don’t know what is. Of course, this also applied to the minorities already here but they knew their numbers could be easily replaced.
