Walter Maestri, who spent a decade as the public face of Jefferson Parish during hurricane seasons but saw his name permanently associated with the controversial decision to evacuate pump station operators during Hurricane Katrina, died Monday. He was 73.
We Central Texans are just praying we can keep power and water for the next five days.
Thanks for the update. I see died of ALS.
Cruisers are getting an extended stay because of the
Hurricane. At least they are safe with no damage.
**************
Four cruise lines with a total of 20,000 passengers on board previously scheduled to dock
in Galveston, Texas, will likely be postponed well into next week, the Houston Chronicle
reports. Three of the ships are Carnival cruise lines, while the fourth belongs to Royal
Caribbean.

Remember when cruise ships were brought into NOLA to house storm refugees following Katrina?
Seems the media missed the worst parts of the hurricane. Most were in Corpus Christi and that was on the west side (weaker) of the storm.
This is the best video I’ve seen:

The best online coverage I’ve seen is:

Again, a foreign website.
I am sure the US media will soon be say that Hurricane Harvey is Trump’s fault because he didn’t denounce it strong enough.
Yes, several of us were following Jeff at the Rockport carwash last night. High drama, fer sure. Would be good to know whether he survived last night.
I'm not sure I can agree as to quality when they write this:
"To Texas Senator Chuck Grassley he tweeted:"
For you, real time tools including the latest flight recon: https://www.tropicaltidbits.com/
www.harriscountyfws.org
for the general Houston area.
I’m not sure I can agree as to quality when they write this:
Maybe it just tells us how bad the media is here in the USA. DailyMail.com has better online coverage than any USA website.
As always thanks for your diligence n commitment
FreedomPoster. Enjoyed your homepage!
Thanks—bookmarked!
Anyone see the storm chaser stuck in the car wash in Rockport. He sat there until the eye passed over. The car wash disintegrated around him.
I'm sure. I was just amused that it was included as "hurricane news."
San Antonio has heavy raid and sustained high winds.
Remember, if you come to moving water. “Don’t drown, turn around.”
Thanks!
