One's perspective becomes much clearer by simply viewing the entire media complex as an industry that manufactures & distributes 'infotainment'. As such, these conglomerates are under the exact same pressure to produce results just like all other major publicly listed corporations driven by quarterly numbers.

In this particular industry, the name of the game is generating larger numbers of units sold: viewing eyeballs. This, coupled with more efficient production - that is, engineering more fewer component parts aka reduced procedural steps aka single source vetting aka 'making shit up', in addition to streamlining the 'assembly line', results in higher earnings per share.

Ultimately, however, the left is going to have to either beg or order the MSM to cease and desist. There is still only one way to gain power in the US, and that is via elections. Until that changes, some kind of winning coalition needs to be formed. If the left loses only 5% or so of the middle due to the actions of yellow journalism, then that fatal flaw will prevent them from ever gaining back any electoral influence.

It’s the shock of delusion colliding with truth.

Kinda fun watching them all.
Create a picture of some one curled up in a shaking fetal position with several heads of Donald Trump hovering about.
The caption should read: “Suffering from the DT’s”.

I have no insight now on what Bannon is doing, but I think you are correct. Further, I think he’s planning on building a giant machine.

The crux of the matter is will the News media ever resort to reporting the actual news again?

Merely reporting is so “then”. Get with the program.

It now appears that Sebastian Gorka will be joining him (Bannon) in whatever venture is on tap. I'm thinking they can be more effective on the outside than on the inside. Especially if they are privately funded to build a large national news network that can counter the 24/7 assault on Trump by the establishment media.

I think there is a huge audience out there for such a network but we don't have time to wait for upstarts like Breitbart, OANN, etc. to get up to scale. We need the infrastructure now. Perhaps a major buyout of an existing network is in the works.

If it were me I’d make Gorka the anchor of the nightly news.
