> In the old USSR, a 10 year sentence was the shocking extreme you could get short of a death penalty.

IIRC from reading Solzhenitzyn, Robert Conquest and others, 25-year sentences during the Stalin era were not at all uncommon.

USA justice is no justice at all. Especially if you dare tell the covert, secret, DC beast, no.

its racist....no black ever goes to jail for threatening violence...they do it all the time...

and someone please tell me the last time a muzzie was charged, let alone jailed and convicted, for urging whites and Christians and Jews to be killed.

Kind of a large sentence. This is unjust.

...

And it’s a federal sentence. He’ll serve most of it.

On of Stalin’s constitutions did fix 10 years as the maximum jail sentence. Any “criminal” that warranted a more severe sentence got the death penalty.

But as I noted before, it was common Soviet practice to run 10 year sentences one after another. And as for the 25 year sentence you mentioned, I don’t doubt it. That was probably given when another constitution was in force.

I remember this stuff because I was - for a year - a political science major in college. Then I wised up and switched over to chemistry.

Big message to us “little” people - obey the King. A man stands up for what he believes and gets a 68 year sentence.
Nobody hurt, no shots fired. 68 years just for being there to stop an out of control government and help get answers.
Unacceptable.
This on the same day that they refuse to repeal Obamacare - an unconstitutional mess rammed down our throats. Obey the king.
NO!!! Restore our Constitutional Republic. Hey D.C., you paying attention?

I don’t recall hearing that he fired any shots at anyone. Saying you are “hell bent” on doing so does not mean you actually did any shooting. Guess the First Amendment didn’t apply to him, or so the judge decided.

“And it’s a federal sentence. He’ll serve most of it.”

Not likely. He’s 53 already.

US has 4-5% of the world’s population and 25% of the world’s prisoners. This is shameful.

Now if he was a leftist that assaulted someone at a Trump rally, he wouldn’t serve any time.

Sentence is a bit extreme. Geeze murderers get less time. And what exactly did he do? Didn’t kill anybody. What then?

Not at all.

If you look at the rules the judge imposed on jury selection the granting of an appeal on this looks like it will be automatic.

>>Now it’s up to President Trump to issue a pardon.

You would think so. It would be sweet if he did, especially after Sessions went out of his way to PRAISE these prosecutors.

A video was posted on You Tube saying Burleson was convicted of “assaulting a federal agent” which did not happen during the event back in April 2014.

The feds attacked people at the ranch protest including Ammon Bundy according to videos posted online.

This sentence is a joke.

The Ninth Circuit is the route of appeal but some have suggested that President Trump exercise that “full pardon power” he tweeted about recently.

Excessive.

Then again, government excess is what started the whole thing.

The lesson from the judge here seems to be that you might as well go ahead and kill the federal agents whenever you have the chance, because even considering it will get you 68 years.

Who cares what he SAID to some interrogator. What did he DO besides carrying a gun he was entitled to carry?
