Good for you! Seriously! Weight is a major factor in most medical issues.
My BIL also had Type 2 diabetes. He was reasonably in good shape but at 60 he needed to get in better shape with a better diet. He did and his diabetes went away.
They don’t cook.
That is why it isn’t available. Most people can’t, or won’t cook. As you slide down the economic scale, fewer and fewer people have the time or resources to cook.
“fewer and fewer people have the time or resources to cook.”
Nonsense!
Smart people who have little money do nothing but cook and not eat out or eat expensive packaged foods. My parents did it as did all my friends parents.
Poor people are not poor because they work so much they have no time to cook. They are poor because they make poor choices including wasting money on eating out and packaged foods.
Common sense, which this nation is lacking.
Friend, I know people who CAN’T cook. (as in they literally don’t know how to boil water). I know a few on the lower end of the economic spectrum who live in a place without a stove. They have a microwave.
My sister lives in Chicago, and they cook (a lot) but most of their friends do not. They don’t take the time. They get home at 6PM, and if you want to do anything else taking 45 minutes for a meal is “to long”. They have friends that don’t even own a freezer and only keep drinks in their fridge. This isn’t uncommon.
And yes it is about choices. But the reason you can’t find fresh food in many poor areas is it will spoil before it is sold. The people there either have no idea of what to do with it or would rather eat fried whatever.
“Friend, I know people who CANT cook. “
You’re making my point. Poor choices, including accepting ignorance.
I was told that only horrid nasty OP drugs could reverse the -4 OP, well I can’t take any med that has A-Fib attached to it and all OP drugs are Flagged for it, already had 2 ER trips because of them. I use only bone Vits/Minerals, and after 4 yrs, have dropped the OP score to -3. With improvement in all but 2 areas, which were the worst.
He phrased that badly.
The point he was making is that you can’t intentionally control your weight by calorie-counting.
Regular readers of his will already know that.
He has pointed-out elsewhere that if you overeat by ten calories (one potato chip) per day, you’ll gain a pound over the course of a year; ten pounds per decade.
If you knock-off the carbs, you’ll stop eating when you’ve had enough to eat, and, if you’re overweight, you’ll lose weight without being hungry.
Unemployed people on welfare don’t have time to cook?
Good. That first doc was nothing but a Big Pharma whore. Pushing expensive drugs with a nasty list of side effects. Only downside is that I’ve got to buy new clothes, as my old outfits are more or less hanging off me. Good problem to have, I think.
They won’t cook.
Read “Life at the Bottom” about the welfare class in England. It is very similar here. Or read “Hillbilly elegy”.
They don’t know how to cook, or won’t cook.
They in themselves are killers. They do not prevent heart attacks. Blood thinners are another crock if you have plaque in your arteries, they do not dissolve them. Try K2 Complex it forces the shed calcium i.e. plaque to stay in your bones, where as baby aspirin just thins the blood. K2 Complex also is a blood thinner as is D3. All vitamins your body actually need and uses efficiently.
Then say “They’re too lazy to cook”, not “They don’t have time to cook”.
Cooking isn’t hard. That’s just lazy
Forty seconds...
That is why you take at least 70 Billion in Probiotics per day 2 hrs after any antibiotic. They don’t know good vs bad bacteria so destroy it all. Forget yogurt use pills. You will prevent Thrush Mouth and vaginal yeast infections common with antibiotics and anti-virals.
“t is true that anyone put on thyroid medication will develop diabetics.
There are all kinds of cause and affects going on in medicine.”
Not true friend. My aunt was on thyroid medicine her whole life and lived to be 102 without becoming diabetic.
I was honestly agreeing with you.
But the point is that the drugs were developed because most people will not follow this program. I know better, but still go out for Taco’s on occasion.
He is right though. We cut out sweets when our kids were born (more to get them to eat the good stuff than any other reason). My girls don’t want to eat a lot of cookies and hate pop. They as for veggies (and now swordfish). I didn’t think this was to odd till I realize all of their peers have stacks of snacks and goodies all over the house.
We also like to cook (Alton Brown is my hero!). Again, I didn’t think that was odd till others commented to us about all the “wasted” time we spend canning and cooking.
If my doc tried to push Ivanka on me, I just might have to listen.
My water pill is a 2 stage drug Dyazide, 1 side protects from kidney damage the HCTZ stops fluid retention around heart.
