My best friend used to do that. Stand straight up on the seat at speed, look ma no hands.
I saw him do this several times. He never fell, but I always thought it was foolish. I would never attempt it myself.
I did try to see just how fast my bike would go once. Over 100 mph I lost my nerve and never tried it again.
A friend of mine had a dad who was a doctor. The friend said the joke around the hospital referred to motorcycles as ‘donorcycles’.
On a separate note, I do not live in LA, but I can get a news radio station from there. They (KNX) have traffic reports “on the fives” all day, every day. It’s LA, so there are always accidents.
Anyway, on odd occasions, when I think that I have problems, I listen to these reports and then thank God I do not live there.
One day the reporter was in the middle of his report, he said “... and motorcycle accident NUMBER NINETEEN is at such and such freeway.” (Note that in California, if there is a fatality on a freeway, the CHP SHUTS DOWN that side of the freeway completely for hours for an investigation. Thousands of people are either totally jammed up or exit onto surface streets to wend their way.
A couple of weeks later, tuning in again in mid-report, the announcer said this: “And motorcycle accident NUMBER EIGHTEEN is ...”
