A long time ago, when I was in grade school, they used to refer us a lot to Time magazine, but as I recall I think it was a different publication then. Do they still do this? It’s a joke now.
You probably won’t believe this.
Che’s grandparents emigrated to Argentina from the freaking USA and they were LUXURY YACHT MAKERS.
In his grandparents’ age, Argentina was seen the world over as an up-and-coming Switzerland. “As rich as an Argentine” was a very common expression, then.
Their view was that the primary market for huge yachts would be there, so they emigrated.
Growing up, Che was not fabulously wealthy, but he was not at all poor, and he was in the upper reaches of the middle-class, almost high-class.
His adolescent hobby?
Humping their Asian house-keeper.
Err....as a sign of Solidarity With The Workers, yes, OF COURSE..!!
Uh-huh.
He loved killing, baldly declared the same to his dad in letters.
An amazing warrior, though, right?
No, he had a bad case of asthma, could barely keep up on the ruck humps through the mountains and when captured had a pistol mag FULL of ammo.
“I’m more valuable to you ALIVE...!”
But at least his revolutionary activity outside of Cuba showed how much Fidel trusted him, right?
No, actually it’s likely Fidel was TRYING TO GET CHE KILLED. As economic minister he had quickly driven the Cuban economy straight off a cliff. He was widely known and would be very hard to formally fire.
Che was a sickly, cowardly, cruel idiot who in death LUCKED OUT and inherited the biggest propoganda machine the Earth has ever known.
