They’ve had decades to learn to defend themselves.

Without our support it would take the fat psychopath a couple of days to overrun the ROK which,IIRC,is something like the 5th largest economy on earth.

What kind of worldwide depression would *that* cause?

Kwestion: How does the Korea Herald know what went on in the Oval Office, but nary a peep from the creeps in NY, DC, LA and elsewhere? Has fake reporting spread to the Korean peninsula?

Trump should go back to being an isolationist. SK does not need US protection anymore. All US troops should have been withdrawn 20 years ago.

The cold hard truth is that China will never allow Korea to be united as long as there is one US soldier on the peninsula. Withdrawing our forces is the right thing to do for us and for the Korean people in the long term. It is necessary for a free, united and democratic Korea to emerge.

“Why should 30,000 - 50,000 Americans be cannon fodder when the SHTF between North and South Korea?”

Right!

And if communists take of South Korea, well, let that be a lesson to the rest of the West:

Communism still sucks and that’s what happens when you don’t spend on your OWN defense.

Well, then they deserve to be overrun!

They have had decades, 70 years, to take care of the situation. South Korea is a first world nation, and it is inexcusable that after 70 years they cannot defeat their starving cousins to the north.

.

So do we start by giving them nukes?

He should be furious because the decision was both crazy and dangerous.

Locals zoom on details which directly concern them, which major MSM may consider a minor unimportant episode. Since it is relayed by an official(not known if S. Korean or U.S.,) they are just quoting him. Of course, they cannot be there in person.

They elected a Leftard. We can expect many problems in the alliance and much sucking up to North Korea.

Notice how President Trump always expresses “fury”? Where Obola always expressed “concern”. Just another subtle bias.

“We can always withdraw our troops, planes and ships from the Korean peninsula. There are other theatres where they’d be useful. I say that as someone who spent two grueling years there defending those people. If they no longer want our help....”

The problem with that move is that it hurts us at the same time. South Korea’s continual unwillingness to face the reality of the situation because of the strong likelihood it would suffer a massive attack in the process, makes dealing with this problem exactly the way we have ever since the hostilities ended there in the 1950’s. But now, Trump is faced with the unacceptable fact of nuclear-capable ICBMs that can hit us. In that context, SK isn’t going to get a “no” vote when we decide it’s time to deal with Kim.

Just like Germany, the American taxpayer has been funding/subsidizing their defense. From that national security grew Samsung, LG and KIA off the top of my head. Bring the troops and military equipment home and see how long it will take before they’re all taken over by NK.
