Asking for and granting “validation of feelings” is what it is all about.

Someone may believe they “truly feel” a certain way. So does a rapist, a murderer, a thief, an addict and so on.

Does a “valid” feeling make every act of acting on a feeling a valid thing to do? No.

“Feelings” have everything to do with brain chemistry, little to do with its ability to reason and when “identifying” with a feeling is the only thought process in action, then very little of the mind’s ability to weigh choices has been put to use.

What a crazy world we live in, in which a woman feels guilty for not acting as a free sexual appliance for men whom she doesn't know or like.
