Comey and Mueller have been friends for many years while at the FBI.
It is possible this thing goes away, but it is also possible it goes sideways for months or years, even with no evidence. It is a way the uniparty has in the past kept a cloud over other administrations.
In this case it is also a way to divert attention away from the very true and multiple deadly crimes committed by the Clintons and Obama, and potentially keep RINO’s from looking like accomplices for going along, while striking a level of fear in any fence riding establishment types who might otherwise be willing to go after the former administrations and Secretary of State.
My pointing out that they are Republicans was in reply to post #69 which said: “This sounds unethical. Would they allow Republicans to sync their stories?”
Since the Special Counsel’s investigation hasn’t started yet, I have no idea who is to be trusted and who isn’t but I find nothing inherently suspicious about a Special Counsel talking to a witness. That’s what he was hired by the Justice Department to do.
Actually, I believe the real objective of this entire effort is to keep our current administration, and efforts to bring real justice, on their heals.
So far the universal left wing propaganda/media and multiple investigatory efforts are working very well to stall what appears to be fearful AG leadership.
At their core definitions, both the leakers AND the media are truly guilty of sedition, treason, and death. They have been for generations, but not to this extent and degree.

Yes, it smells of collusion. Comey wants to know what Mueller has on him. (When the agents from the Justice Department hand-delivered the notice of Comey’s firing to Comey’s office - while Comey was conveniently out of town - they took Comey’s computers, data records, surveillance tapes, etc. Now this stuff is ensconced somewhere in the Justice Department.)
I suspect that Comey will cancel the Senate meeting after meeting with Mueller.

Are you aware of a specific problem, or is there a plea deal to spill something meaningful? Comey has either perjured himself or given false statement before Congress, has he not?
I've successfully bargained down moving traffic violations with the prosecutor prior to trial on a couple of occasions. Have even had charges dismissed before. Comey is high octane by comparison but bargaining model is still applicable, I think.

Likewise, with Flynn, I assume he’s taking the 5th to avoid a “process crime” but he’s likely violated the law with Turkey. Course, they aren’t interested in Turkey, so he may not have an immunity deal cuz he can’t give them “muh Russia.”

Because there are so many investigations all going on at the same time, Comey will be testifying under oath on multiple occasions: its possible that he will appear before the Senate Intelligence Committee, the House Intelligence Committee, the Senate Judiciary Committee and the House Oversight Committee. Republicans chair all of those committees, then throw in investigations that don’t hold public hearings: CIA, NSA, FBI and finally the Department of Justice Special Counsel. All of those are investigating alleged Russian involvement in the election.
I see zero reason to have more than one investigation, if that.
It was the Trump Administration’s Justice Department that selected Robert Mueller as Specal Counsel.
It has been known for years that Mueller and Comey worked together in the Bush Justice Department though in different agencies, Justice proper for Comey and FBI for Mueller. Comey replaced Mueller as Director of the FBI.

I have a really bad feeling about all of this- anyone can back date a memo to coincide with a meeting.
I have a feeling that WH is bugged head to toe and someone is letting folks close to Trump know they have them saying things. Why else would Coats who serves the President come out and now say the conversation was documented.
Why isn’t Assistent DOJ being present during the meeting with Comey and Mueller.
I have a bad feeling about Mueller. Intelligence folks can plant evidence, splice recordings, back date data, mess with computers, messages, etc.

My mom in law has been dating a former FBI agent after my FIL passed 7 years ago.
We were at a family wedding this weekend. I asked him about Comey. He said never in his many years at FBI has he ever seen what Comey did. It was wrong how he threw himself out there this past year. Comey made himself judge and jury regarding charges against Hillary. This agent is a Republican also.
