I have loved Rush’s show since 1990 (a lot funnier then with fewer apocalyptics) but his personal plugs for his sponsors make me shout,
“Rush! Stick to the issues!!”

I HATE those spoken word commercials where he sounds like he is just talking, but he soon turns to the real agenda which is to sell you some of the (mostly) worthless crap that gets advertised on his program. Fully agree on the third hour. I don’t bother with it at all, and especially the last half hour of the third hour.
YES! A cross teacher at that! Think about if he were a woman carrying that onerous persona? I didn’t like Megyn Kelly either.
I guess Judge Jeanine would come closest in the blunt category, but with human warmth, and humor with a raucous laugh.
Probably Tucker will be a very good
replacement. At least he is not one more distracting calendar girl with his bare legs showing up to here. !)

5 is too general. Never apologize unless you are actually wrong. An apology is an admission of guilt. It won’t end a controversy but instead would be like confessing to a crime you didn’t commit. That’s not easily reversed.

Rush’s audience is 20 million.
O’Reilly answers to 21st Century Fox.
Rush answers to nobody. He owns himself.
When you hear paper rustling it’s a tipoff that he’s about to read ad copy.
When there’s a brief silence and the words ‘Y’know folks...’ it’s another tipoff that he’s about to read ad copy.
I make no apologies for being a bit of an amateur audio engineer even I apologize for being a bit geeky and obsessive but I’ve taken to recording the RL show and cutting it down after (no need for podcast subscription either). I take special pleasure in nuking the Paul Harvey-style plugs lasting 2-3 minutes.

I used to work at a law school and one of the professors reminded me so much of BO. He looked similar to him, and had the same attitude as him. He also taught sexual harassment law yet would still make off color comments to some of the women. He didn’t have tenure, so I don’t know how he didn’t get in any trouble.
Maybe these guys were despised by their father. Something is missing. BO spoke only of his mother, who still lives in the same house, I think he said, in which he grew up. He sees her like every weekend, he said.

I don’t know whether O’Reilly did what was alleged or didn’t. But we now live in a society where mere allegations suffice to ruin a person’s career, and that should disturb us all.
