What’s the difference?
Agree 100%. I think that enforcing our laws and removing the lure of illegally staying will lead most to depart on their own. A clear government No Welcome sign is needed to get the effort started.
Meanwhile scumbag Ryan stonewalls and wallows in defeatism
It would be very effective and cause less political fuss as well. There are plenty of other things to spend political capital on. The laws already exist for half of it.
I’m a believer in working smart not hard when the option is available.
There are 30 million illegal aliens here, this is going to take a long time and we need many more ICE officers.
Starting with felons makes sense, but we should not have to wait until illegal aliens harm or kill Americans before they are removed.
We need to cut off employment and benefits to encourage them to go home on their own.
We should also publicize the fact that deportation results in a 10 wait to re-apply for entry.
If they leave voluntarily they can get in line like they should have to begin with.
DACA must be ended.
Continuing to hand out work permits to illegal aliens under this illegal program undercuts all the other efforts.
The solution is to faithfully execute the Constitution and the laws of the United States. And contrary to what the left and GOPe would have us believe, the Immigration Laws are not broken, only those who direct that they be enforced selectively or not at all. Now, if they don’t like the laws as written then get them changed through the system...if you can.
Cut off the GD, MF welfare, Mr. President.
This ain’t rocket science.
With deportation and some cohesive effort maybe we can turn this state around.
I hope so.
If California isn’t saved it will end up pulling the rest of the country down with it.
It’s in everyone’s interest to see that the illegal alien invasion/occupation of California is reversed.
We tried to warn people of what was happening back in 1994 when we passed Prop 187 and no one paid attention, certainly not the amnesty pushing Bush wing of the GOP.
Well finally most of the country now knows that this is a serious problem.
It’s no time for half measures.
Foreign nationals who are here illegally do not belong here and they are changing our society. Send them home.
Yes, yes, and yes.
I describe lying leftards like WaPo’s Drezner as filth!!
No doubt about what they are.
Hmmm. Proof that a good troll never gives up...
Deport or CA is gone. DECIDE
What’s the difference? Are you kidding?
Entitlement/welfare money to illegals is miniscule.
Taxpayer money to green card, H1B, naturalized citizens... and especially Refugees is very large and growing.
Illegals come here to work. Although most legals come here to work, a significant minority come here for the welfare. Almost 100% of Refugees come here on welfare. And legals who come here to work are often seduced by “navigators” into reducing their self-pride.
We are very consciously creating a new permanent underclass group.
Immigration is a different subject. This article/thread is about illegal aliens. My post was on topic and addresses illegal aliens only.
Yes, I even stumped for prop 187. So disappointed when the court turned it over.
When people on the right focus on illegals voting, or illegals on welfare, or illegals raping it gives most everyone the idea that the right is giving a pass to legal non-citizens who do these things.
I’ve seen blogs on the right that actually say that they are only against illegals voting.
What I am saying is when we communicate, we can expect the audience to follow its normal thought pattern and context. Your communication, and the communication of many on the right (including me) is the reason for many of our problems.
This problem is not limited to immigration. Usage of the term States Rights is a good example. The concept of States Rights is a Democrat Big Government concept. Per the Constitution only humans have rights. Governments have Powers. Most people who use the term States Rights actually are arguing for the decentralization of government power, not for States Rights. But they use the wrong term and it makes us look like hypocrites and hypocrites in the worst aspects of abuse of government power in slavery.
I consider immigration and illegal aliens/border security to be two separate issues. I don’t want the government to treat them as one issue, especially legislatively. Trump indicated that he would deal with them separately. I was glad to hear it.
