>> we want a strong dollar that grows slow and steady against other currencies. That extra gain is what helps attract the big investment money from other countries and accelerates our growth <<
Agreed.
But a stronger dollar and more foreign investment almost always means the merchandise trade deficit will increase. It’s simple arithmetic that you learn in Economics 201.
So Pres. Trump’s goal of a stronger dollar is probably inconsistent with his goal of reducing trade deficits.
Still, he may get so busy with the MOABing of N. Korea that he may not have time to notice.
>> I worked in the GW Bush White House and I genuinely like the man on a personal and professional level. His public persona, as cast by the media, is not even remotely close to the sincere, caring man with a wonderful sense of humor that I saw <<
I saw 43’s interview on C-SPAN a few days ago, about his painting book, and I was virtually blown away by his humor and by his sense of irony. I thought to myself, “This is really a guy I’d like to spend time with.” Seems like he’d be a great friend!
>> I would add that I think this article is written like it is made up <<
Respectfully disagree. The article looks to me like something dictated to the author by Bannon and/or Miller. Basically a professional hit-job on Kushner.

If Jared and Ivanka leaned more to the right than to the left, perhaps I wouldn’t be as concerned about the nepotism thing. :)
Really, what are any liberals doing in his inner circle?
No conservatives were in there with Obama, or would have been with Hillary.
But Trump has given by all accounts the most authority to liberal Manhattan Democrats—and clearly is increasingly listening to them in steer the ship sharply to the left.
The appointment of Gary Cohn, the epitome of a liberal Manhattan Democrat, as Director of the National Economic Council is very disconcerting. Letting the fox into the chicken coop.
As is Dina Habid Powell—close Valerie Jarrett pal and wife of Richard Powell, the head of the Clintons’ international bag company (Teleo, the company that “hired” Huma while she was at State and was founded by Clinton consigliere Doug Band to collect their exorbitant speaking fees while Hill was SoS)—as number 2 at the NSC.
Even liberal Democrat Mnuchin at Treasury is a problem. And don’t get me started on the big-time liberals and ethics-twisted Jared and Ivanka.
