What is the U.S. interest in Syria?

A mad dictator that was allowed to progress because Obama didn't have the balls to enforce the "red line".

Jordan doesn’t want the palestinians, they already have plenty of them, and they tried to revolt long ago and the King put it down and now they all live in refugee camps inside of Jordan with very little rights... They are treated worse in Jordan than they are in Israel.

This is what people need to realize about the palestinians...They are the trailer trash of the middle east, none of the other Arab countries want them, they believe they are lower than dirt.. the only thing they are good for to other Arabs is to be incited into violence against the Jews to die as suicide bombers and cannon fodder.

You think Israel treats the Palestinians poorly, go read up how Jordan and the rest of the Arab stated deal with them.

Oh yeah, forgot about the "red line". Life sucks here when the "red line" isn't dealt with. Thank goodness Obama had the balls to take care of Gaddafi. It's way better there now...

Wrong - we were kicked out of Iraq. The deal was agreed by the Bush team. Face it We lost, got whupped.

No amount of we shoulda ‘bombed em to the stone age’ is going to
chance the simple fact that our military was defeated in Iraq.

BTW ‘WE’ didn’t go into Iraq. A bunch of NeoCons did this. WE aren’t responsible for finishing the job. That’s unamerican totalitarian thinking on your part.

In what context did you get that from? YOu are reading what you want to see, not what is there.

Tell me when Obama dealt with Syria accordingly.

Please. The idea that Assad can do anything and the rest of the world should nothing just because the other side is evil too is nonsense.

Assad is evil, period... The Islamic Fundamentalists are evil... Personally I don’t care if they kill each other all day long... However if the international community has decided Weapons of Mass Destruction are a line that cannot be crossed, then they must hold that line... because if Assad can do it with impunity others will be emboldened to do it as well.

I am sure Isis is glad an airstrip was taken out, but the reality is it hardly changed the course of the war and it was hardly the US saying, he ISIS we are fighting for you now. The idea that the situation in Syria is Binary is beyond comical. Its a giant fustercluck of groups, factions and politics... to say its Isis or Assad doesn’t even get you to naive level.

>It isn’t accurate. Think about it? What do you expect a Russian Ministry of Defense spokesman to say? Of course they are going to downplay and muddy the waters. If the Russians had shot down those cruise missiles then they would have been all over it showing the evidence. The claims of the S-300/400s come from armchair warriors filling in the blanks of the claim that only 23 hit their target. It is all part of the propaganda.

You are correct and it sounds like the Syrian air defense grid is so poor that they where not ready to use it even with 2 hours warning.
