“I still do not see why Republicans wont vote for this”
How about because it is socialized medicine, and we need a free market?
“How about because it is socialized medicine, and we need a free market?”
Wasn’t this the purpose of reconciliation? To take Obamacare, change it with house and senate bills, reconcile them and put up a “changed” health care plan?

IOW, the purpose was to keep socialized medicine?
That’s not a good plan. Socialized medicine in all its forms is poison to the human spirit.
I got as far as “By: David Brooks”
You might be surprised if you read it. Just sayin.
I’ve read through the draft and would say that that (1) there’s no indication that I can see that it would lessen the cost spiral, and (2) that it does not serve as some long-term solution. It’s simply a marginal way to say they undid the Obama program, and lays us on the path to single-payer in the end.
I think half of the GOP figured that out and asked why bother voting on some fraudulent bill with no real long-term solution.
I look at Ryan and the GOP leadership. They had seven years to craft a workable plan. It’s been mostly all a lie. There’s a number of Republicans who need to retire and move out of DC. They aren’t going to be part of the future.
