The guy pictured is not the 15 year from Lisbon Falls. He is the 19 year old from “Lewiston”. The 15 and 16 year olds are white boys. Unknown how they ended up in the Westbrook motel together. But the 16 year old would have probably been the victim if the girl was not available. I suspect there is a lot more to this matter.

That’s not why journalists insert the word into every sentence, whether it makes sense or not.
It started as a CYA measure, so the accused couldn’t sue the paper for libel.
Now it’s used when no suspect is in the sentence. There can be ten bullet-riddled bodies, and the reporters will talk about how they were “allegedly killed.”
And suspects are constantly said to be “accused of allegedly” committing murder, burglary, etc.
