Why not a Clean Repeal?
Needs sixty votes in the Senate.
Congress should go with tax reform first. There is a lot that can be accomplished via eliminating portions of the tax code for this purpose and fatten take home paychecks immediate without creating such panic.
Any plan covering pre-existing conditions is not insurance but socialized medicine.
The bill would include insurance across state lines, portability and tort reform.
It would get rid of Medicare expansion, which is just for freeloaders who would rather spend disposable income on non-necessities than health insurance: try eating at home or go naked, it's your choice.
Lose Snow and Collins, but hold on to Paul, Lee and Cruz.
It might pass; it might not. But you did your best to honor your commitment to the American people, who will credit you for that.
Then two years from now, you will have 56 or so Senate seats and can implement the right plan for us all.
What Ryan is offering you now is a ticket to the price Bush Sr. paid for breaking his promise to "read my lips: no new taxes!"
No phase-in or delay: move to the best approach immediately.
Republicans are NOT obligated to do anything.
No Republican voted for it; therefore Republicans have no pressure to replace it with something equal or worse.
All the Republicans have to do is repeal it entirely, and don't give me this feces about not having the votes. They can repeal Obamacare exactly how that POS Reid made it into law.
Repeal Obamacare completely; maybe give everyone a $5,000 healthcare tax credit so that they can deduct any medical expenses to for several years. That takes care of the issue with those who lost their plans under Obamacare and those who will lose their Obamacare plans. Then after the August recess start working on free market reforms.
and at this moment in time it would require a dictatorship to pass a bill that didn’t include it.
