Looks like the spillway was undermined because the sides weren’t tall enough for the attempted flow rate.

“It looks like California wanted to get by with the least amount of material to scam the tax payers.”

Give me a break, the dam was built 50 years ago.

People outside of KaliPorno intend to block federal funds, and rightly so.

Yes the scam was not in construction is seems but in skimming maintenance funds off of the top and not being able to perform functionary tests.

This will probably come out in the end with either mass firings and/or whistle blowers stepping up and sounding off.

We already know that California Politicians are liberal and are known for scamming their peasants out of billions and billions of tax funds then cry to the rest of the Nation for a bail out. Sorry peasants, but f(**K no, not this time.

Yawl are trying secede and yawl need to practice standing up before walking.

Texas needs to secede but hell we are running already, away from migrant Californians before they bring their liberal BS here.

The slabs of concrete were not thick enough to handle the pounding from the water. It looks like California wanted to get by with the least amount of material to scam the tax payers.

My thoughts too - they put a pretty facade on a ornament instead of building it to do the job.

I don't think duct tape is gonna do the job this time.

Since Mother Nature has already done most of the excavation, would it make sense to broaden the spillway? I suppose one might keep it the same at the top, which looks sound enough, but it could fan out below the damaged area. Would this help hydrologically? Or would it be a dumb thing to do?

Moonbeam and liberal policies canyon. After Trump’s speech last night and even before these pictures should be the pictures that represent nationally what liberalism has done to our infrastructure. Of course we a group of people on the other side this money has gone to and events. Such as illegals in droves, politicians and their friends, stupid things like gender neutral bathrooms, Obamafail(care), Solyndra, etc, etc.

We need to see the lake side of the dam, below the emergency spillway and underwater below the main spillway, especially.

California is a disaster, anyone living there who thinks otherwise is just living in denial.

The money for basic infrastructure was raided and squandered long ago... they don’t upkeep jack, they act surprised when it eventually bites them on the arse.

They haven’t built any new acquifers in decades or electrical generation etc etc etc in spite of the population exploding and some of the higest state taxes in the nation.

California is a poster child to government malfeasance and mismanagement. If you have the ability, get the hell out
