The last Movie we went to was Hacksaw Ridge (also by Mel). Very good - similar to the Passion with it’s gory details of the hell of war, and the unwavering faith of a man.

I hope the entertainment industry realizes they are playing with fire if the Oscar ceremonies include political statements by host Jimmy Kimmel, the presenters and/or Oscar winners. That is the type of thing that will automatically result in lower movie ticket sales during the most profitable part of the movie release calendar: the blockbuster season from the beginning of May through Labor Day.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if AMPAS "muzzles" Kimmel, the presenters and/or Oscar winners out of this very fear, especially when both the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) and National Association of Theater Osners (NATO) are dreading such a possible de facto boycott.

Yes. They really REALLY care if their income is cut by half or more.
Most of them have lifestyles that are commensurate with their current
income.
