You're right. There are so many other possible, more plausible causes for such large-scale effects. I would expect local effects, some measure of detectable contamination very close to the site, but widespread, FUD-based reports, such as the entire Pacific Ocean dying, are nothing more than fiction.

The one that got my goat was the supposed effect of radiation on California plant life, of how it was all drying out and dying from it. A bunch of crap. At the time they were in the midst of a region-wide 100-year drought. A much more likely and proven cause of vegetation die-back.

EPA?? This may come as a shock to you, however, the EPA
makes no distinction from Naturally Occurring Nuclides, i.e. Thorium, etc. that are present in states with dust, mining operations, etc., To blatantly quote air sample data as a result from events across the ocean is Pathetically inaccurate.
