If their hopes and dreams vanish over a delay, then they know they could never pass a background check, let alone an extreme one ... But sending relatives to them is a great idea - as long as they agree never to return.

The celebrated charity of the American people provided private charity for the honest productive ones many of whom separated themselves from their families, and eventually sponsored family members also to migrate legally, with understood conditions: familial support, no taxpayer paid welfare or permanent disability .

That is a sad story but everyone on the planet is not entitled to come and live in the USA. We get to decide who and how many to take each year (as has been our policy for a long time).
There is a process for coming here ... always has been.
The rules have not remained the same all that time. There have been changes ... which is our prerogative as a SOVERIEGN NATION.
Every other nation has a process for immigration. Try to get into New Zealand ... see how easy that is. Try Uruguay or Taiwan. Lots of places you can apply to for residency.

I haven’t heard of one offer from Saudi Arabia, Oman, or Lebanon, etc. to take in Syrian refugees. Nor have I heard one word from the UN or the EU encouraging these states to do so. If anyone can explain this to me, I would appreciate it.
Guess what? I don’t give a rats’ behind about their dreams. We’ve been catering to everyone else’s dreams for decades. It’s about time I get my dream.
