“Saudi Arabia continues to deny women fundamental rights and imprison dissidents advocating peaceful reforms.”

This all began on Jan. 20, 2017 at noon EST. No such policies existed while Obama was the Washington Post’s president.

Tillerson doesn’t seem to realize speaking up for human rights is part of the job

According to whom?

First of all, there are no such thing as "human rights".

And, even if there were, "speaking up" for them is not the function of the US government or its State Department.

The Washington Post doesn’t seen to realize the job of the SoS is to represent American interests abroad, and human rights for evildoers isn’t in our interest.

Where, in this garbage article, does it actually describe/identify/list the consequences to "U.S. interests" of minding our own Nation's business?

It is time to reestablish the "interests" of the U.S. to be directed at securing and maintaining the freedoms and rights guaranteed to its own citizens under the former Constitution.

“We need the Philippines. Period.”

I agree with you. It is not smart to attack somebody’s human rights issues when you must also negotiate an arrangement by which they help us in global power projection. I am sure to provoke a liberal storm when I say America’s security is more important than what the leader of a strategic location does with his drug dealers.

Maybe we should try some “extra legal” assassinations ourselves.

In the eyes of the Obama/Soros “Justice” department

Christian bakers, florists and wedding photographers are the targets of choice.

Not to mention the Little Sisters of the Poor.

Why hasn’t WaPo been criticizing Kerry for not calling out the Saudis on human rights? What did Obama do about the Philippines? Or how about the US backed Syrian “rebels” (jihadists) hiding among civilian populations? Now suddenly it’s a big deal? I wonder why?

It’s not a lawless anti drug campaign, Dueterte gave them permission to police their own neighborhoods. The best government is the most local

Rights and interests of the US and our citizens are only concern.

What, do they want us to bomb the Phillipines and Saudi Arabia?

How upset were they about this before the election?

The Shah of Iran was anti-drug. So he had to go.

Libya’s Khadaffi worked to stop the drug trade there. So he had to go.

The muslim Albanians who were handed Serbia’s Kosovo by NATO, Clinton and Soros were and are known as “the Columbians of Europe.”

The drug business is BIG business. Don’t you dare get in the way of it.

HOW DARE Duarte try to wipe out the Phillipine drug cartels.

Where was the Post while Obama set the world on fire? You’re right, all these problems started on Jan. 20th, we’ll actually Nov. 9th. They started bc Trump got elected.

No. He realizes that his job is speaking for the American people, not just the sexual pervert lobby.

Human rights are for everyone but greedy, selfish Christian Americans right? Stupid f***s thought they could step on our necks for ten years (Palin quote) and we are supposed to say “ please sir can I have another?”

We don’t owe ANYONE from ANYWHERE a free ride in our once great country. Tillerson looks good to me and I don’t care what Big Media says.

EXACTLY! Tillerson has actually read the job description and understands what the job is. We’ll finally have an administration that represents WE THE PEOPLE, not everybody else in the world but us while handing us a bill.
