When I was young - - a person could buy something in a store, take it home, and return it the next day. With no questions asked. The clerk would refund the price in cash.

We had that return system because culturally it was considered bad form to cheat the system for gain - an unspoken rule.

Twenty-five years ago - or so - I was in a discussion with a new immigrant from the ME who was telling me in his ‘home country’ they could never have a return policy like we have because people would go to a store - buy an expensive suit - wear it to a party - and return it the next day. In short ‘cheat the system’. I explained our system only worked because we culturally ‘agreed’ not to game the system.

He couldn't resist - he gamed the system - "shopping" several times a month - returning products the following week... Multiply that by millions of people from third world hellholes and we lost something nice - a gentle civilized part of our culture.

Stores caught on - records started being kept and 'returns' became suspect - as they should have been. Our culture coarsened. That happened in many areas - while our ‘liberals who wanted to feel superior’ dumped more immigrants on us than we could assimilate. They did not understand what was happening. It wasn't 'just jobs' it was our communities. Bowling alone meme...

The ‘Judge’ thing is the same - we're giving respect to the position - as if the judicial system had not changed.

It's changed.

The judicial system's no longer worthy of our knee-jerk respect - - as it was years ago. Today we have judges ‘cheating the system’ - unfair returns - legislating from the bench. Coarsening the culture. The new normal MUST include that we withdraw our respect and ‘trust from the judicial system and replace it with trust but verify’.
