I really hate Leftists. Do their ideas EVER work ANYWHERE? Are they incapable of learning by experience, or does theory always win* over reality?

Their ideas about society and Utopia do not and cannot work. Their ideas about getting power and wealth do work, until they have driven the society into the ground totally.
Communists are like Moslems. They cannot produce enough in their own societies to survive at bare subsistence level for the 99.x% and luxury for the .x% and that tiny number must decline if the society cannot conquer and strip other nations. The USSR was essentially living off what they stripped out of Eastern Europe after the War. Reagan saw that it was running out and he forced them to hasten the collapse by trying to catch up to what they thought he was doing.
