Cruz was born in Calgary and that’s in Alberta, Canada- 3 hours north of our American border.

Ted is a natural born Canadian citizen and held onto his Canadian citizenship until 2015.

His father was Cuban citizen until 1968. Then he became a Canadian citizen until 2005.

His mother was born in the USA, was a British resident for 6-7 years and then became a Canadian citizen.

The Cruz family moved to the USA when he was 5 yrs old.

"Since" you brought it up,IMHO Loretta Fuddy may not be dead.

There was an elaborate plot to stage the crash of a small plane with ten passengers with the only death supposed to be Fuddy.

However there exists a three hour video that was painstakingly done that reveals almost any question you can ask about the episode.I was fortunate enough to view it but don't feel as if I have the right to chat about it. So I will let it go at that.

Sufficed it to say there are a lot of questions about the entire plane crash that will probably never be answered.

I have thought for many months now that the Constitution should be amended to require that any candidate for POTUS be subjected to a background check. It makes no sense that the only person NOT subjected to a background check is the person who will hold the highest office in the land!

Nonsense. The statutes are very clear.

If Barry was born in Kenya to Stanley Ann, he clearly fails under the statute--no argument. Everything else, including my speculation about Canada, is just that--speculation and irrelevant until the facts are in the record.

Cruz on the other hand has a somewhat better position. His mother passed Citizenship to her son born outside the US to a non citizen father--again, the statute is clear and specific.

Cruz has two problems. One is technical compliance with the statute which is not all that clear. The other is that the established Constitutional Law view excludes statutory citizenship at birth and does include only birth in the several states. At present, my forecast is that the Supreme Court would hold Cruz eligible if he were elected but that is not supported by any operative precedent.

Actually, he would not be a U.S. citizen if Stanley Ann Dunham were legally married to Barack Obama, Sr. But Obama was at that time already married to another woman. Therefore, Dunham doesn’t have to be age 19 in 1961, since U.S. law would deem the marriage of Obama-Dunham as void, as bigamy is illegal. in 1961 and 2008/2012.

Also, under Kenyan law Barack Obama II would receive Kenyan citizenship at birth. Under British law, Barack Obama would have British Commonwealth citizenship from birth, if he applied before age 21. When adopted by Soetoro, Obama obtained Indonesian citizenship. So he had three citizenships at birth, and a fourth at age 6.

Natural-born? U.S. Supreme Court could have heard the case, but declined, ran away from that case. From a legal standpoint, I don’t know what his legal status(es) are. I never heard that he ever renounced his Indonesian citizenship, and I have heard that when a person becomes a citizen of Infonesia (including minor persons), he must give up all other citizenships. If so, then he was not eligible to be President. But no U.S. court has taken the case.

That suggests, contrary to speculators here, that it's not simply that FMD or Malcom X provided the daddy part, but that the entire situation "required" an entirely-revamped LFBC.
