Not perfect, but tons better than what we have now.
Agreed, but that is the reality we are in.
My point is saying we can’t do something because it’s too “complicated” is BS. It was BS when W. Wilson said it as it is now.
I’m 100% certain Trump will lead the way on how to do it now vs “slowly”.
Contracts ars negotiated every day but it takes at least a year to writs an insurance contract. There are numerous parties involved invoicing states, groups, hospitals, doctors, employers, etc. Even a fast track would take months if not years. Also redoing existing contracts would be impossible. For example What insured who just met his deducible would want to change?
My confidence lies in Trump’s ability to get things done. Notice during the campaign he always talked about making changes “fast”.
Obviously you know a lot about contracts. That’s all well & good. I still believe Trump will get Ocrapo-care repealed & replaced with market drive solutions within days of taking the oath of office.
The health insurance industry is dependent on establishing networks of providers to control their costs and the costs incurred by their policy holders. If a company is not currently doing business in my state then they have no network. There is no incentive for them to sell business under those circumstances since they are at the mercy of whatever the medical provider charges. There is no incentive for me to buy it because I'm going to pay more for copays, for deductibles, and for all the work I claim. So again, what would it solve?
...and Obamacare does not have vouchers.
Regardless of what you call it, it is still the government providing you money to buy health insurance. And as long as the government is subsidizing it then were is the incentive for the insurance companies to reduce their premiums?
That is one campaign promise I truly hope he breaks.
Make light of complicated, but it really is and can't turn on a dime. Trump is mortal, not a demigod. Only God can speak and make it happen.
“Trump is mortal, not a demigod.”
No one has suggested otherwise.
That said, Trump has been underestimated for 18+ months now. I’ve heard/read a gazillion times “Trump can’t do X” & he did X, Y & Z. I’ve heard the progressives on both sides of the aisle tell me so many things “can’t be done.”
I expect Trump will surprise you. Have a great day. Peace :)
Politicians say a lot of stuff to get people to vote for them.
I corrected it in the next post. It should be Medicaid
A big part of Obamacare was having the states expand Medicaid to cover more people. Almost half the stats, 22 of them, refused to do so. Why would that change once Obamacare is repealed?
the expansion is temporary until replacement is passed... And care to guess which party controls the bulk of those 22 states?
It they get the replacement done before 2018 doesn’t matter if they stall it’s the fallback to get them another year.
I think if you don’t allow Mexicans into the hospital that right there will increase profitability immensely immediately.
A lot of people think that, but it isn't true.
Whether a nurse is taking care of a Mexican, doing a crossword puzzle, or talking to her boyfriend on the phone, she gets the same check. 85% of the hospital budget is labor.
Kicking out the Mexicans improves PAYER profits tremendously, but it doesn't do much for hospitals.
Where I live Mexicans do not pay for their hospital services.
It is a given, and is openly discussed.
It just seemed like a common sense start.
No, I support getting them out.
What they are allowed to do here is immoral.
But it won’t solve the hospital $$ problem.
