I find it interesting that this is a play where black people play the roles of historically significant white people.

I don’t really have an issue with it other than it is liberals conveying history as entertainment to like minded people who will view it as factual, but can you imagine the storm of outrage and protest if there was a similar type of play where white actors played the role of Martin Luther King or Frederick Douglass? (I would have said Booker T. Washingon, but many on the Left revile him anyway because he preached self-reliance...)
